| I am ready for a change and want to move NORTH, maybe Indiana, PA (Posted on 10/7/12 at 2:38 pm)
Does anyone on this site have any personal experience in that area of our great nation? I have never been there, but it looks beautiful! It's the home of Indiana Univeristy of PA, Jimmy Stewart, and the It's a Wonderful Life Festival, and it's also the Christmas tree capitol of the world. It's nestled between the Allegheny Mountains yet only an hour away from Pittsburg. July's average temp is 83, and the yearly average temp is 62. There is a chance of snow EVERY Christmas, and every Thanksgiving is cold. They have 4 seasons, not two. There are many state parks around the area, which offers hiking, camping, fishing, and boating. And in an Awesome Christmas song, it is implied that there is always homemade pumpkin pie! I have never loved the south and have always felt misplaced. I think I am simply ready for a change. Whay say you?

If you are looking for 4 seasons and scenery, just move to Virgina, New Hampshire, Vermont, etc.

I say give it a shot. You'll never know if you don't give it a shot. And if you don't like it you can try somewhere else. Nothing bad can come from giving something new a try.

Move out west. Far better than Indian or Penn.

With that out of the way, the PA mountains can be really pretty and there are lots of very nice small towns. I like Jim Thorpe, PA myself.

Garberville California was one of the most appealing places I've ever traveled through. I would love to return one day.

PA is just as much of a shithole as the south, and it's cold as frick for six months out of the year.

1. I lived in Cali for two years. I don't want to go back there, although there were many beautiful places. 2. I never said I was going to Indiana the state. 3. I don't like the sound of "I live in Virginia." Sorry! 4. I don't eat fastfood outside of Cane's and Chickfila; Lester Earl, you are a fool. 5. I also looked into Monroeville, PA. It is between Indiana, PA and Pittsburg.

It's beautiful country and the people in western PA are some of the friendliest I've ever encountered. I lived outside Pittsburgh for several years and traveled extensively in the area. BTW, the city of Pittsburgh is one of the best-kept secrets in the country, not at all the grimy industrial place people often think of.

BIL lived up there. He moved back down here, said the sky clouded up in November, and cleared up in April. Also got tired of clearing snow from his sidewalks which is the law that you must. If your car is parked outside of a garage you'll have to chip the ice from it before you go anywhere, and if its cold and rainy enough you'll have to chip the ice that unites your tires with the driveway. But other then that it's nice.
