It's pretty obvious. Alba and Adriano are only defenders in Barcelona's system. Alves is more of a winger, even in Barca's system. And JM is a CDM, that only plays CB because barca like those qualities in their C B's. So the obvious point is that they are getting worked because their are no pure defenders in the whole back line. Clearly.

We're more or less on the same page. I thought that your comment was implying that, outside of Puyol and Pique, there was an alternate Barcelona defense that would have defended the earlier situations appropriately.
