Cocodrie/Dulac/Dularge report

Caught 39 out at the rigs south of Timbiliar. We caught them on "shiny hineys" under a cork. Would have caught more but we we ran out of baits.

This the jig head and the tail is like a shrimp tail. Comes in a few different colors and works like a charm

It comes with the artificials that you put on it. I picked mine up at Songy's in Houma

You said you ran out of bait. I'm trying to understand this bait, so forgive my dumbass questions. Did your jig heads and soft plastics wear out?

Yeah, you fish em with soft plastic shrimp style bodies. Bass Pro carries them. I haven't seen them at Cabelas or Academy. Superior has them but they want way too much for them.

Nice haul. Better than I did. We only managed three damn fish. I should have gone south.

Caught 5 nice flounder, 7 reds, and 11 specks that we keepers, caught several school trout in mechant sister lake.

Those shiny's work even with just the jig. No plastics. A lot of people caught specks yesterday with them just bare.

Walmart sells them too. I've used them a couple times. They work good.

Thats awesome, I'll have to try them bare next time. I was having a difficult time putting the baits on the jog heads.

The platforms were on fire this weekend. We came close to limiting out on yellows ranging from 40-100, filled up the box between the yft, ajs, mangroves, a lemon, and a beast of a warsaw. Never came across a shrimper with any kind of following but sharks.

Launched the kayak at LUMCON and headed north into the marsh. Weather was amazing this morning with a slight breeze. Caught 4, 2 of which were nice keepers, but I had to release because I didn't have my icechest. Tide was nonexistent, and the fish went lockjaw around 9:30. Caught this first keeper with a Shiney Hiney under cork.
