Wow, just reading an article about the players from Oviedo (Spain) who are doing well in England, and I forgot, Pirès is also from here/there (genetically).

It's amazing, but, if y'all saw the football base programme here, you'd be wondering why there weren't more.

As an Arsenal fan all I can say is I love me some Santi. Not quite as good as Cesc but definitely in the same ballpark.

In other sports, the athletes are bigger, faster, stronger than ever before while maintaining or even improving the level of technique from the greats of the past. Basketball, football, and (especially) golf are great examples of this trend.
The future in soccer is going to be those bigger, faster, and stronger players with ridiculous technique usually found in smaller guys. It's great to see that shift coming into this sport.
To even imagine a dude with center back size, top speed, and world-class ball control is stunning...I can't wait to see these kids you're talking about down the road.

I don't think he's as good as Cesc, but Cazorla is more aesthetically pleasing IMO.

Huge hyperbole here.
There's always been quality technical players with big statures. Zidane at 6'1" was the most technically perfect player of his generation. However there's always going to be a certain physical hindrance to players over 5'10" based purely on center of gravity.
Gerard Pique is an incredibly silky player, but there's a reason he got pushed to centerback while Messi stayed forward on their youth team that also featured Cesc Fabregas.

I see what you're saying, but I don't see this kind of player just staying at CB. Piqué would be a great DM on a lot of teams outside of Barça. If we see more and more players getting pumped out at this size and technique, it would be a waste to put them all at CB. (Also, Piqué isn't as quick as you'd like in a midfielder...)
What if Zidane was two inches taller and stronger? Would he have been weaker with the ball?
The center of gravity argument is important, though, didn't think of that.

Busquets is probably the most skillful tall midfielder right now, but he's not necessarily quick. He emerged as slow centerback and then converted to a pivoté in the midfield once he reached first team. Yaya Toure is really the only freak athlete who is big, fast, strong, and gifted with the ball at his feet.
Look at the heights of some of the best seven or so players in the world right now:
Messi 5'7"
Iniesta 5'7"
Xavi 5'7"
Ronaldo 6'1"
Eden Hazard 5'7"
Neymar 5'9"
Rooney 5'9"
RVP 6'1"
Only two of those players are above six feet in stature.

I'm slightly above 185 (6'1 and a bit), and I have met both Zidane and Cristianito. Zidane is shorter than CRon, but not by two inches.
I'd say Zidane barely hits 6, with hair, and CRon is 6 (and that is stretching it a bit). Then again, I'm a weak 6'1 and a half.

No, I understand all of that. I'm not saying we'll have Toure-sized guys playing forward...I'm saying we're trending towards seeing more freak athletes with superb technique, like Toure.
Everyone wants to go out and get a Toure. The wingers and forwards will most likely be smaller guys for obvious reasons, but I think we'll see more of these super athletic, super technical players in the future. More Toures.
The Messis and Neymars will continue to be that size, that makes sense...but the difference in pure athleticism between athletes (in any sport) today and the athletes of yesterday makes me think we'll see that emerging more into soccer, like Dandy has said with these kids in this particular system.
