As for the name thing, it's pretty evenly distributed. The halftime guy will always say my nickname, but the announcers are about 50/50. No problems for me in that regard. I just wish the nicknames weren't so stupid.

In 2K12 they always said my guys name. Now they almost always say ABC what a ridiculous nick name

You do realize that you can switch your nickname? Pretty sure it's when you create them but not sure if you can switch it once you are in it

that's the first nickname option. there are about 30 to choose from. I go with smooth but would rather hear the last name. Thought about naming my guy smooth to fix the problem.

Instead of ABC I can be red hot or perhaps Mr. Perfect? Maybe the game can recognize that I chose a first and last name that the announcers can pronounce and instead if tagging me with some grade school moniker they can just say the damn name.

Motherfricking this. When they started calling me by my nickname even when both my first and last name is in the game (Thank you Royale Ivey), I went back to see if I could. When my name is in the game, I don't want to be called fricking Dimes.

I'm new to this game
Any general advice? I've only been playing quick games and I'm pretty terrible. I can't really get open looks on offense. Everything is just clumsy.
How do y'all play ?(length of quarter, camera angle, sliders, difficulty etc.?)

is there any reason why you don't collect coins in the blacktop games? seems like 3 out of 4 I dont get anything then suddenly I get 160.

Be patient. If you think youre gonna walk into the game dominating, then you gotta tough lesson ahead of you. Having 2k12 expeirience helps but its still an adjustmen
Also get prepared to be frustrated to no end. Its hard, so the game seems to be working against you but just wait. One day youll igure out how to really dribble and get open. Then youll get how to shoot from different areas of the floor. Then passing will come, etc etc
I think thats what I like about the game. Its genuienly hard without you feeling like you were cheated or it wasnt fun. Maybe its just the nature of the game but i can have fun even if im losing, but in Madden if im not playing well it becomes hell on the remote

I created a defensive center. Fun stuff.
I set picks and roll to the basket. Still havent figured out why the dunk combo does not work. I have resisted the temptation to buy VC points, but I want to be a Tyson Chandler type player and I need the dunks.
Could do it all day in 2k12.

Try dropping the difficulty. I started out on All Star I believe...it was one level harder than default.
Between the new controls and whatever, I was getting my arse handed to me by the computer. It got frustrating. I would start getting blown out, close the gap and then back to blown out.
Dropped it back down a level and I'm playing much better. Probably a little too easy at times, but I'm using it to learn a bit. Then I'll pick a level and start messing with the sliders.
One thing I've noticed is that if I screw up on defense I get burned. Playing against Westbrook, if I left him open he flies straight to the basket. Same with many others. Refreshing and aggravating at the same time!

I think a lot of people are finding that Pro, and some slight slider changes, gives the best game.

This is the one thing I love the most about this game is that not everyone plays like stars. And the players that are stars will punish you like they do in real life. Makes guys like Sefolosha and those defensive sig skill guys more important in this game

I made a big center (obviously took one for the team for when we team up and play online). Didn't dominate initial game but had that A+ Team Grade (I screen everyone). Needless to say I went #10 to the Hornets and while I don't start, I now play 30+ MPG. We lead the division without any trades yet. About to ask for Rivers to be dealt, never passes the damn ball. I went ahead and maxed speed/quickness/vertical(easy because as a big you are limited to how high) and got my handles and passing up. I run the pick and roll with Anthony Davis and dominate. Had a triple double early in the season and that idiot Justin Bieber started following me.

Coach D are you on Xbox. If so add me for team up. I play pg and actually dish the ball. I'm tired of playing with my friends who ball hog all game and play no defense. I'd rather
6pts 12+ assists and 3 or more steals over 20 points 2 assists any day.
