| GPS unit stolen: Is it possible for Garmin to track it or remote wipe it? (Posted on 10/6/12 at 1:32 pm)
Garmin telephone customer service is closed on the weekends. Shot them an email, but they will respond within 3 business days. Any of you have experience with this? If so, what was the outcome? Thanks.

Proof of purchase: in the computer system ay Best Buy (about 6-7 yrs ago). Looking for serial number info now. Might have tossed it the last time I purged stuff I don't use anymore. But I wonder if the unit can be tracked and/or wiped.....

This is my concern.... ....ne'er do-wells now know where I live. Don't need a new one, as I use iphone maps and gps for everything. May have to finally install that surveillance system.

Did you have like a treasure map on it or something? I doubt they will use it to come rob your house.

Nope, it has no tracking or remote access capabilities. Yes the criminals can press "home" and show up at your house.

I'm not so sure. We've had a string of burglaries here in the last few years.

can you show me stats? why would you be any more likely to be robbed by someone who stole your sat-nav? That makes no sense, your house is just another house like anyone else's on the street I'd assume.
