In a New York minute. Eta: just saw it was for all the non-users now. Although, I haven't touched the stuff since undergrad.

No, because I want to keep my job. Legalizing marijuana won't lead to a boon for the average working adult, since the drug policies of employers will stay in place regardless. I'm sure that has been mentioned though.

No, I can't stand that shite. Anything that makes me cough like I I'm about to lose a lung probably isn't great for me anyhow.

I think I would. I'm 46, have smoked it less than 10 times in my life, and none in over 25 years. But I think I would smoke some.

Right away, I'm sure you're right, that employers will still not allow its use. However, it will only take a few instances of employees fired over using it for lawsuits to arise, thereby raising this issue for the legislators.

did you elect to start being sodomized when they repealed sodomy laws? I might eat a brownie, but I have a real aversion to the smell of Weed, I think I'm allergic to it.....so probably not

No one can blame you for choosing not to.

It will be a losing case in my opinion. Marijuana is close enough to alcohol that they will be treated the same. Can't drink on the job(or in the hours before), can't smoke the reefer.

If it were legal, I'd probably have some right this very minute. I'd have to be careful. Munchies are a dangerous side effect! :remembering the hazy days of youth:

On the job/the hours before, of course not. But can they limit your alcohol intake in the privacy of your own home, after work or on the weekends, so long as it doesn't interfere with your work schedule? I'm not trying to come off as a staunch defender of marijuana use, either. I'm just raising a question.

the only different is the time your body is able to metabolize THC vs. alcohol. I would say weed is less damaging than alcohol. Let's say you smoke marijuana legally on sunday afternoon. Your job involves operation of any equipment and you go to work on monday. There is an accident on monday morning and you are required to take a piss test. The THC from the joint on sunday will still be in your system and there is no way to prove you were not under the influence while operating the equipment prior to the accident.

I think most people who are very anti-marijuana have never tried it and just believe all the negative shite they see on tv. Like if u start smoking you'll become lazy and never leave your couch

Did not even think about that. But absolutely, while it may be more noticeable had you had a few too many drinks the night before than had you smoked the night before, there is no way to prove you didn't smoke that morning, if you had to take a piss test.

I truly don't understand the problem. I've seen much more harmful effects on people's lives with alcohol abuse.

Yes I would because studies have shown it has a positive effect for patients with my disability. I would have used it years ago but in FL you pretty much get a life sentence for possession.

I only use it on the weekends. I rarely smoke it though. I use a vaporizer because it's easier on my lungs. Every now and then I'll make a brownies. I think it's ridiculous that alcohol is legal and marijuana is not. My boss smokes it pretty much everyday so I'm not so worried about losing my job.

How could you guys saying no because of your job be fired for using something that is legal? As long as you are not high at work they cant fire you
Think in many dangerous jobs this won't be the case tbh. I believe a company will still have a right to say you can't smoke and until they create a test to know if your high right now that won't change. I know in Oregon there's already a precedent set. A millwright, who has his state medical card, was hurt on the job and obviously tested positive. He was fired, he sued and it went all the way to the state supreme court where they ruled in favor of the employer.
