had their car vandalized? Yesterday was the third time in about 2 months that I have my car magnets stolen off of my vehicle while I was in Lafayette. What is with the University of Lafayette fans? Are they so jealous of LSU that they would commit a crime?

I moved to Laffy this summer after finishing grad school at LSU. I haven't had problems to that extent, but many of them are seriously butthurt when I talk about LSU. They, most of them, wear their red shirts to work on Fridays and they want to bitch and moan when I wear purple, even though I have two degrees from LSU.
But honestly not all Lafayette/UL people are this way. Some of them, like myself, are very supportive of both. But they definitely have their fair share of unreasonable turds contaminating the UL punch bowl.

I live in Laf. There is a segment of thier fanbase that detests everything about LSU. Most of this has been discussed in hundreds of threads. This is the first I've heard of any property damage. But I do know that some of their fans hate LSU very much & feel we should all move to Baton Rouge. A newspaper editorial was published on this topic.

I had a project in Lafayette a couple of years ago, year after McNeese beat UL. Had to listen to an at&T guy go on for ten mins about how great UL was, LSU sucked, blah blah. So I say I went to LSU. He backtracks a little. Then I say, "Oh my parents went to McNeese. How'd that game work out for you guys?"
He turned around and left.

A lot of them are closet LSU fans that couldn't get away from their Lafayette bubble and/or didn't get into LSU.

you know it is possible to get in to lsu and decide to go elsewhere. I live in Lafayette and also attend there school but wear my purple and gold to work also. Lets keep the academic talk to a minimum here. Strictly speaking football, lsu over ul all day in my book.

I never had a problem with the fans here, they all good people to me. They love their school just like everyone else, and now they good coach thats really getting the town involved with the team, somthing that never really happend here.
Let them have their fun its not hurting you or LSU.

FWIW, Louisiana Tech owns ULL or whatever it's called these days. Inferiority complex run amok. And I don't get the love for Lafayette in general. Complete shithole if you ask me.

they are upset that there are more LSU fans in Lafayette than UL Lafayette ones....... just wait til Hudspeth leaves, it will be the big school's fault that he wouldnt stay, big money, etc...............

So I am at the point where maybe I contact the police. Its close to $75 worth of magnets/mirror covers and such, all total. But I am thinking this will do no good. My other option is to buy a large quantity of LSU magnets and slap them on the vehicles sporting U of Laffy crap. Reverse the action and confuse these red heads.

I addressed this in my post. I said that a lot of ULL students couldn't get away from their Lafayette bubble OR couldn't get into LSU. I see you were one of the former.
