Nah. I used to smoke all the time in college but it's probably been 5 years since I last did. Wouldn't do it again - just don't like being high anymore.
It should absolutely be legal though.

depending on what state you're in, that's not true at all. An employer could fire you for smoking cigarettes if they wanted to.

Yes, occasionally, probably before bed. No, wouldn't eat it. Tried that once, took a long time to hit me and got me really sick.

This is true but if some magical way weed was legalized by every state and the federal government you have to think a large % of jobs who do drug test would probably drop the weed aspect of it.

Doubtful. You can't be on legally prescribed medications that impair your abilities at most job sites. You would get fired just the same. It would be no different than showing up drunk.

I'm not sure if I agree. Over time, probably so - but many employers are old school straight and narrow folks that might not care whether it's legal. Once that generation does out though, I think we'll all realize how silly it was that it was illegal. Same with gay marriage IMO. Looking back now, wasn't prohibition pretty dumb?

Absolutely. And when legal, there would be no work reprocussions from smoking on the weekend to unwind.
Get baked and put in a movie. The best way to unwind.

Jobs could still bar you from smoking. As mentioned, there are jobs where you can't smoke cigarettes, even away from work.

The long term effects would be the issue. As someone who used to be a heavy pot smoker, I can tell you it makes you stupid for several weeks after you quit.
Any decent size company will know this and fire you if you test positive.

I know some companies don't allow any mind altering perscription drugs, so no anti depression/anxiety, adderall, etc.

The one situation I could see them backing off is if and employee had a serious health issue and had been prescribed it.

Right - and even if you're only smoking on the weekend, a company might not think you're a good fit. I was pretty lazy when I smoked a lot, even while not high. If a company wants to fire someone b/c they're the type of person who likes to get high, then that's their prerogative - a company could do so now for a drinker - though they might have a tough time finding employees

I can't test positive for any of this while at work.
Now if I am injured and taking pain meds while away from work, I can test positive. I just need to have a prescription. However, prescription or not, I have to be clean when I return.
