I would add direct election of US Senators and Roe v. Wade but I don't know who to blame.

In God We Trust wasn't the motto of the US until the Eisenhower Administration. So all of the things that you all decry (basically anything Kennedy, LBJ, Carter, Clinton or Obama has done) were done AFTER In God We Trust was made the motto. What you want to return to was an America BEFORE In God We Trust was here.

Was it not? Don't you think the significant economic disparity between whites and blacks can be traced all the way back to the trans-Atlantic slave trade?
I'm not asking anyone to feel bad or guilty for anything, I'm just saying that all it takes is a cursory understanding of American history to see that the institution of slavery significantly altered American society in a way that we are still feeling the effects of.

What about those are liberal or conservative? You gave terms that are literally so broad that they can mean anything.
"Foreign policy" for example means literally anything our country does in relation to foreign countries. Everything from isolationism to full-blown imperialism counts as a "foreign policy."

Happened under Nixon, yes, but was the result of LBJ's policies.
The Bretton Woods agreement was rendered unstable and unworkable due to US deficit spending to fund the Great Society and the Vietnam War.
Oh, and I think going to a gold standard isn't a good idea.

Okay, some of y'all don't know what "policies" are.
The POLICIES that are holding the United States back are the War on Drugs (conservative), poor campaign finance reform (liberal and conservative), and the promotion of universal home ownership (liberal).
There are lots of others, of course.

True, it is supported by both Democrats and Republicans. I guess I was labeling it as conservative because it is socially conservative and was started by Nixon and Reagan.
