No. It will 100% be picked up. He will have surgery in the next few days most likely and hopefully bounce back. Don't see him in ATL past next year though.

Agreed.

The more I think about it, next year is the year we need to just go for it.

Will probably be Mac and Huddy's last years. Our younger guys are about to start getting expensive, and we won't have much minor league talent to call up and produce at a cheap cost in the near future.

He would need to lose 20 pounds and have a bounce back year.

Seeing Ted in the crowd killed me. He would have gone for it next year. Liberty Media doesn't care though.

Y'all are continuing to bypass the fact that catfish 62 is coming out of retirement to pitch. We don't need to sign huddys option, I'll throw for the good of the team.

Posted by volfan30 Atmosphere at the Ted tonight was unlike anything I've ever seen in sports. The 19 minutes after that Holbrook call were almost indescribeable.

True that. Everyone drills ATL fans but for those 19 mins we all collectively held it down. Had that been Philly or somewhere and I don't know if those umps come out alive. Hell Chicago was ready to crucify that dude for catching a foul ball, imagine what they would have done w this.

Nate McLouth is a starter for a team that is going to win its playoff game.

I wish someone had hit Holbrook in the head with a full can of beer.

The crew was all standing behind the pitcher's mound. A few beer bottles landed in their circle and one airplane liquor bottle hit the HP ump in the face. Like I said, I've never seen anything like that.

I'm still not sure why or how Fredi didn't get tossed. If I was a manager and that shite happened, I am probably hitting someone.

It was great tho being in the stadium, they would bring on a BS "quit being mean" announcement and everyone would start booing. At one point they brought on the dude who does the fan interviews to try and get people to settle down and everyone went nuts booing him. It was a great atmosphere. Probably the best baseball atmosphere I've ever been in where you really get a feeling that everyone cares.

Wow, crazy.

I don't agree with how the fans reacted but I did think it was utterly hilarious how after every pop fly from then on the fans got an infield fly chant.

Yeah, that jumbotron host coming on was the highlight for sure. He starts with "We have the most passionate fans in the country!" Huge cheers. "But let's stick to chopping!" 50K boos and another shower of trash.

Just got home. I did some arb projections a couple weeks ago, look pretty similar to yours. Medlen's salary imo will be very interesting if he makes it to a panel. No real comp. for him. I think he could get to $2M. J Hey's #s will get him to $4M imo and I think Prado will get to $6M. Everyone else we are very close on.

ETA: Ross has probably made a couple hundred thousand for himself as well in his new contract.

Now, consider the situation if you’re the Braves: You’re down 4-2, with a runner on third with one out. Your season is on the line. You can’t afford to give up any more runs. What’s the best way to escape the jam? You need a strikeout. Do the Braves have a reliever like that? Anybody you can think of? Anybody who struck out 50 percent of the batters he faced this season, the highest rate in the history of major league baseball?

I know this has been discussed about a million times, but why Fredi is incapable of bringing in Kimbrel in any inning other than the ninth astounds me. Sure, Simmons should have made the play on the grounder, but you have a guy who's a K machine at your disposal and he's sitting in right center. I'll never understand.

Notes from DOB this morning, nothing groundbreaking:

Entire coaching staff will return
Jair Jurrjens expected to be non-tendered
Braves likely to offer Tommy Hanson arbitration
Braves likely to re-sign David Ross
Braves expected to exercise Tim Hudson's 2013 option; Hudson says he wants to retire a Brave

More notes:
Freeman wants to correct vision issues; will explore lasik, but age may prevent it
Braves medical staff does not believe McCann needs surgery, but McCann believes he'll need shoulder surgery and could miss up to 4-5 mths.
Moylan wants to return to Atlanta

Selig has ruined the baseball playoffs. Sucks because baseball is such a great sport. It's about as easy to frick up baseball as it is to frick up a ham sandwich but somehow selig found a way.
