I guess Juliette having feelings for the Captain is more dramatic, but thankfully the memory phase seems like it will be over after next week.

I don't know how they will explain her getting her power back. I still don't get what is in it for the Captain to be protecting Nick so much?

Nick is likely part of his plan to get revenge on whomever screwed him and restore himself to his former position.

And he's obviously rebelling against the royal families, he's probably using Nick to try and get his hands on the coins, the key, the paper containing the burial site for the items of power the Grimm's hid.
