| New Yorker Magazine cover of the first debate (Posted on 10/5/12 at 7:31 pm)
The artist, Barry Blitt, commmented:
quote:
“This image seemed like a proper response to the first Presidential debate, but I’m not sure I realized how hard it is to caricature furniture.”

Well this debate was slightly better than when he debated Clint Eastwood. Both times though, it was like he was invisible, not even there! I still think the Clint Eastwood debate was more entertaining.

When the New Yorker turns on a D, you know the end is near.

Don't look now, but The Empty Chair Presidency is now iconic. When this critique is now perpetuated within the salons of American Liberalism, he is kaput. Thanks Clint !

Can you win an Emmy for a speech from a live event? If Mitt can pull out a win in Nov, Clint will be the winner hands down.

Wow. I had all but given up on the New Yorker; didn't think they'd have the guts to call as spade a spade.

Ridicule is harder to recover from than just being called dishonest, a liar, incompetent etc. This could begin to chip away at the Obama myths.

Agree. Image made him and the bubble of invincibility has kept him afloat. It has never been about substance. This could be a bit of a big deal. It's the white liberals that this touches.
