| "It Might Get Loud" documentary (Posted on 10/5/12 at 5:56 pm)
This is a documentary with Jack White, The Edge, and Jimmy Page. It's worth watching. I gained an even greater appreciation for Jack White after watching it. Dude has mad chops. Few clips: Jack White Showing How to play Seven Nation Army Jimmy Page explains origins of Kashmir riff Closing Credits (The Weight)

One of my favorites. The Edge was by far the least interesting. Loved Jack White's parts the most. Explaining why Grinnin' In Your Face is his favorite song. Awesome stuff.

that is a great film. Edge seems pretty damn cool when Bono isn't all over the place. Jimmy just gets cooler as he gets older. He's like an English professor from hell.

I've never seen a better musical documentary. Those three playing the weight at the end was astounding

Jack white was way outta his league. Well, the edge was too....anybody would be with Jimmy.

They picked arguably the most influential guitarists of three consecutive eras. I definitely think jack white belonged over The Edge. I can't think of a more interesting guitarist to take his place. So yea he definitely belonged in that room and it appeared that jimmy agreed

Like the OP said, I gained a lot of respect for Jack White after watching it. My initial reaction was the same as yours. Page and The Edge are icons of their era. White is probably the best of the 2000s. The only competition I can think of outside of the metal world is John Mayer and John Frusciante. Joe Bonamassa is probably up there but he's relatively unknown in the mainstream. I was very impressed with White's respect for the history of music and how dedicated he is to his craft.

Frusciante would've been ok but Mayer and Bonamassa have a similar approach to guitar as Paige. While great guitarists they really would've added nothing extra to the show. Jack White added a completely different approach to the instrument and that's what the creators of "it might get loud" were looking for.

That blew me away. That was where it hit me how good Jack White was. And not just on the guitar either; his voice is outstanding. I'd never really even thought about it before then, but he has serious pipes on top of everything else.

I agree. All three of them are very different in the way they play, and I think that was the idea.

He is amazingly talented at everything he does. He is solid at all of the basic rock instruments and also has that "it factor" that no one else of his era posseses. He truly is the last real rock star imo. Maybe his influence will end up rendering that statement false for the future generations.

I don't know if "cool" is the word I would use to describe Dylan. He is freaking awesome, but he's sort of an angry dude. Or at least he seems that way.
