re: 114k jobs created in September

quote:

I have NEVER seen a jobs report revised this much. Period. Yes they revise it once, but that's not the case. Read What I stated. The July numbers had already been revised... They changed them again.

This is how the jobs reports are handled:

1. They are reported on the first Friday of each month for the period from the middle of two months previous to the middle of one month previous ( today's report is for the period from mid-August through mid-September, not for the actual month of September.).

2. On the next reporting date, each of the TWO previous month's job reports are always revised. Historically, they are revised up ward and downward with about the same consistency.

So today's 114,000 new jobs will be revised twice before falling out of the revision cycle.

July's jobs number was first reported (during the first week in August) as 163,000. Last month, that number was LOWERED to 141,000. Today it was increased to 181,000. July will no longer be included in the monthly revisions.

Once a year, based upon the March reporting month, there is a one-time "annual" revision to the 12 previous months.

That is the sum total of all job revisions.

the worst part is there is a section of our populace that cheers our race into mediocrity.

American is not a race, Bengal. What ever do you mean?
there's no way to construe that as racial, at all.

I'm sorry as an angry black man that you see things through some racist filter. I weep for your sad life.

No way? Dude, you brought "race" up, but then you say it isn't racial? Then you go all out on the

This is SOP for Bengal. Don't worry about it, though. We have a rapport. He shows up and writes something silly. I mock it. He gets sillier. I laugh. It's a fricking symbiotic relationship. He gets to be himself (ridiculous), and I get to laugh. Everybody wins.

Say Obama brings up the unemployment rate in the next debate. What is the simplest way for Romney to show those numbers for what they're worth?

hmmm, are there alternate definitions to the word "race"?

why yes there are....like races in pools, on tracks, on roads.

I'm sorry you are yet another individual so filled with racial identity that you fail to judge another by the content of their character. Sad.

what's funny is you think your conservative "schtick" is even taken seriously.

What's even funnier is you don't actually laugh.

just yesterday you actually threatened physical violence, over a message board

Like I said, I weep for your sad life. You even lie to yourself.....pathetic.

re: 114k jobs created in September
Continuing:

quote:

The number of persons employed part time for economic reasons (sometimes referred to as involuntary part-time workers) rose from 8.0 million in August to 8.6 million in September.

1- 600K in part time employment

quote:

In September, 2.5 million persons were marginally attached to the labor force, essentially unchanged from a year earlier.

2- Yet unemployment dropped.

quote:

Among the marginally attached, there were 802,000 discouraged workers in September, a decline of 235,000 from a year earlier. (These data are not seasonally adjusted.) Discouraged workers are persons not currently looking for work because they believe no jobs are available for them. The remaining 1.7 million persons marginally attached to the labor force in September had not searched for work in the 4 weeks preceding the survey for reasons such as school attendance or family responsibilities.

3- hmmm..

quote:

Total employment rose by 873,000 in September, following 3 months of little change. The employment-population ratio increased by 0.4 percentage point to 58.7 percent, after edging down in the prior 2 months. The overall trend in the employment-population ratio for this year has been flat. The civilian labor force rose by 418,000 to 155.1 million in September, while the labor force participation rate was little changed at 63.6 percent

4- 900K (rounded) magically fell into jobs and we created only 114K

I can not find the words!!! WOW!!

On all that I love, I'm laughing right now. I am easily entertained.

I wasn't seriously thinking of kicking your ass, Bengal. I live in Bahrain. That's logistically inconvenient, to say the least.

you referenced someday. Do you plan on living in Bahrain forever? do you plan on NEVER leaving the place?

Attempting to spin with more lies is really just sad. I'm sorry for you.

Simply tell the truth. You would be surprised at the amount of people who will get it.

600K of theose 879K are part time jobs...

More and more people are leaving the work force and it's why we have a smaller number.

If you want a part time job over a full time job, we are ON the right path.

Have to be careful with this one. The labor participation rate increased in September.

re: 114k jobs created in September

A nearly 50 percent revision is completely absurd. Anyone who buys that number at face value is either retarded or bought and paid for by this administration.

It appears that the BLS was sandbagging the July and August reports so that their upward revisions could have a positive affect on September's report.

There is definitely some form of manipulation going on.

The CBO and other economist are all over the numbers!

quote:

General Electric CEO Jack Welch, who tweeted: "Unbelievable jobs numbers..these Chicago guys will do anything..can't debate so change numbers."

quote:

"This must be an anomaly," former Congressional Budget Office director Doug Holtz-Eakin said in a snap analysis of the numbers. "It is out of line with any of the other data.."

quote:

Holtz-Eakin noted the household survey is smaller, suggesting it is not as reliable. He called estimate of 873,000 new jobs "implausible."

quote:

Liberal economist Dean Baker, with the Center for Economic and Policy Research, called the September rate drop "almost certainly a statistical fluke."
