| Daniel Craig Bond Movies (Posted on 10/5/12 at 10:08 am)
I haven't seen any either of the two James Bond Movies where Daniel Craig was the Bond character. Are they worth watching? I have never really been told they were must watch movies.

Casino Royale is really good, has an incredible opening. Quantum of Solace is just o.k. I think the writers strike really screwed Solace and it could of been much better.

If you're a Bond fan, definitely watch both. Casino Royale is clearly better than QoS, but both are worth a watch.

This is exactly the case. Daniel Craig and some other non-writers had to finish the script themselves. Craig even admitting to be a crap writer.

Craig isn't Bond. But CR was OK, QoS was one of the worst films of all time

Casino Royale was very good, Quantum of Solace should have been titled "Generic Action Film"

This. I saw QoS twice, thinking maybe I'd had too many cocktails the first time and must have missed something. I didn't. It was shite. Trying to make Bond edgy and cold is a poor choice - more of a box office, studio "strategy" than actual creativity.

Pretty much this. I mean I dont see why you shouldnt give them a try if you are any sort of Bond movie fan. Its a good time to give them a shot with the new one coming out. If you like Quantum of Solace, dont come here and mention it. There are some good action scenes and there are hot brawds but the story just inst that great.

Craig is probably the closest ever to the Bond of the novels

Casino Royale is great. The other one is shite. Daniel Craig plays a good 007. I have high hopes for the new one coming out soon.

Quantum of Solace was a huge let-down compared to Casino Royale but, as has been stated above, I blame the Writers' Strike more than I blame Marc Forester, the director of the film. As the article states below, the first draft of the QoS screenplay arrived mere hours before the strike began. Craig and Forester were forced to re-write and polish the script themselves and Craig admits to not being the greatest writer in the world. LINK

Films are underrated IMO Most people bash them based on Craig not being "traditional" bond. However I like the bond he portrays as opposed to the traditional use gimmicky toys bond. Just mixes things up

Craig actually reads the Ian Flemming novels to investigate and capture the spirit of the real James Bond from the novels. That why I like his version so much. Real Bond doesn't use all the gadgets in the novels.
