I really don't think its on my end I have an Intel i5 quad core overlclocked 3.4ghz processor with liquid cooling. 8gb ram, SSD drive, Cable modem averaging 20Mbps.
I should be flying through this game. I play Flight Sim X at max settings and FPS, and that is rough.

Okay, just tried that, gave Minecraft a dedicated 4gigs of memory when playing.
No time to test it now. Will check it out later.'
Also is there a repository for minerals placed by the server mod or did you guys really mine all the materials to make those mile high pryamids and stuff?

Everything I built is legitimate, which includes the pyramid, the two towers, and the sphere.
The bridge and the temple/shop area near the spawn were built by mods in creative. Aside from those two structures, everything else should have been built with materials that were gathered.

I think I have already given up on this game. I don't know what it is or why. But I have tried a lot of stuff, and I can't even play single player without it crapping out on me after ten minutes.
The minecraft people never returned my email, and the forums aren't that much help.
Oh well off to find a new game.

In video options there are some things that may be able to improve performance. Your rig sounds like it should have no problem running the game.
One option on there is performance? Keeping it set to balanced improves my memory usage

I changed some settings and it seems to be working okay. I was tunneling out a mine for minerals earlier. I was going to build a spot not far from the Spawn, and then try to make it to Pectus-land and tour around.
But I realize I need to catch up on crafting, and I have never brewed and just learned about buckets.
I need to look at more tutorials. I have mostly just been practicing building and how to mine.

Good to hear that it's working for you.
And I can't take credit at all for that part of the map. I didn't even find that. I just pitched in a lot when we were settling there. The real magic of that place is underground.

I have forgotten who was with me when we found that place. 
We sailed out on the ocean for like a minecraft day or two until we finally came back to that piece of land. Then we all found the most BAMF underground headquarters ever.

The plugins are all on the server's side. Just enter in the server's IP and you'll be all set.
