If you put the people back to work... 20 million or so, they all have to pay taxes! OH NO!!! crap.. I just messed up. Sorry guys! People without jobs don't pay taxes... once they get a job they do.. that's a tax increase. Noway to put that cat back in the bag!

since Romney cant get in...and sicen you voted for Obama's "hope'n'chnage" strategy in 2008, I find your need for specifics hilarious.
I honestly don't remember McCain running a campaign with a bunch of specific economic policy objectives. They both were running on very similar economic policies.

[quote]quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For another, he says that lowering marginal rates would increase economic activity, and hence tax revenue. Seriously, if anyone wants to know why I am opposed to Romney it is very simple. It is his tax plan and nothing else. That is it. And I am opposed to it because it frankly makes no sense whatsoever and appears to be intentionally dishonest. I cannot support a plan I believe to be absurd and potentionally intentionally dishonest in its basic tenants. That simple for me.

You challenged me on who I voted for in '08. McCain has a pretty big role in that decision. I didn't start talking about what happened in '08, you did.

Going with the assumption that a business man who understands tax codes and creating jobs can actuall put people back to work. I believe he stated he could put 12 million people back to work. Let's give those 12 million people a 50K per year (on average) salary. The math on that would be: 12,000,000 x 50,000 = 600,000,000,000 Those people pay taxes 600,000,000,000 x at tax rate of 25% = 150,000,000,000

One, I wasn't comfortable with continuing Bush era foreign policy. Two, he was old and would have put Sarah Palin (who is bar none the worse candidate for president or vice president in my memory) a heart attack away from the Oval office. Had he selected a better VP candidate it was certainly possible that I would have voted for him as my swing to left is in large part a reaction to the rise of the Tea Party in the 2010 mid term election and last years debt ceiling fiasco.

Same for me. And I blame them for Romney's piss poor tax plan. I think they handcuffed him and Romney is at heart a moderate and more sensible than the plan he has put forth.
