re: Obama just now: "Not the Real Mitt Romney last night"

What I am trying to understand is why would a company, when given extra cash, just start hiring employees and expanding their business?
because they make more money. It's not a difficult concept.
How can you make the logical leap that more employees = more money? If this were the case we would have 0% unemployment.
quote:

customers arent out there because people dont have jobs. people dont have jobs because there is a large number of businesses afraid of the increasing tax rates and regulation from Obama.
Whether taxes are 10% or 50%, you still need to make that next dollar. Are you saying that if you make a million dollars and get to keep $900k that you will hire more people to make 2 million next year? But if you only get to keep $500k you'll just call it good enough and not hire anybody?
quote:

So you think demand is low because people dont want to buy things?

or is demand low because people dont have money, because they don't have jobs....
Obviously demand is low because people don't have money/jobs, I'm not arguing that. All I'm saying is who will be Company A who hires those people and gives them paychecks, when it's pretty clear that the first to benefit from their newfound wealth will be all the other companies who haven't hired anyone new.

I realize you keep trying to put these concepts in a vacuum, but it doesnt work that way.

Your logical fail here is referred to as the "glazier's fallacy"

I suggest you look it up before we continue.

I just get the feeling that Romney's plan for the economy is to gut the government, putting a few hundred thousand more people out of jobs,

Mitt said he would reduce the Government work force through attrition. Google how private business reduces it's work force through attrition.

I know the parable, and my entire line of questioning has been about the "unseen". You are the one saying that lowering corporate taxes is like some magic fairy dust that will create jobs without any explanation as to how.

Your whole argument is "tax companies less -> they will use that money to hire more employees -> the new hires will then have cash to put back into the economy".

If adjusting tax rates so obviously manipulates unemployment and investment, shouldn't we have it pretty much dialed in by now? Or perhaps a 15 trillion dollar economy is a little more difficult than that to model precisely?
