This is unbelievably dumb and unfair. You are only punishing the people that actually pay taxes. How's about we tack this on the people that paid zero taxes? Had they contributed to the system, perhaps the deficit would've been lower? What about all the people that reaped the benefits of taxes? Come on. Lets just burden the people who are actually doing their part more.

blood from a turnip? and dude....did a kid born in 2000 vote for someone that increased Food Stamps, welfare, or any other public assistance?....but he should be responsible for the free money handed out by those in power, and then you want the future kids to try to take from the people who received the charity....not the people who gave it to them?

how....it's a simple bill attached to your estate
Just off the top of my head: 1. This would kill small business growth, especially if they had tried to expand during some of your taxable years. 2. Business A was bought out by Business B. Who pays for Business A's retro'd taxes? 3. Large companies (that employee tens of thousands of employees) often are buying and selling, going back through 20 years of records would end up costing more than the taxes themselves. And that's just the easy stuff. Anytime you open a taxation door for government, it's going to bull as much of its bulk through it as possible (when sold to Congress at the time, income taxes were never intended to get over something like 7%, iirc). Retro'ing any tax would lead to more taxes being retro'd.

Why would we take from the folks that never paid anything, take and then die. Do we just keep passing it to their children?

read your statement....think about it the same people who were okay with stealing money from the future....will be upset if the future says...pay what you spent?
That's like saying you should be punished today for being an idiot your whole life. Why not man up and try to change the path you're headed down so you don't further jeopardize your future. Or you could keep on blaming those before you. Just a thought, and I use the term "you" in a general sense. Maybe.

if I killed someone years ago...i would be if I raped someone years ago...i would be if I stole a famous painting years ago...I would be but if I take money from people without their knowledge or their ability to say "no".....then I shouldn't be?

that's the intent.....balanced budget mandatory, any excess spending MUST BE INCORPORATED INTO TAXES the following year.

when people have to pay their own money and not someone else's.....they aren't as charitable to the poor and they aren't as war mongering.
