FBI Finally Arrives in Benghazi, Libya

Three weeks late to the party...

quote:

Washington (CNN) -- An FBI investigative team arrived at the site of last month's deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in eastern Libya, Pentagon spokesman George Little said Thursday.

The military provided security, and both the FBI and military left Benghazi "a short time ago," he said.

Earlier, a senior administration official told CNN the team arrived late Wednesday and was working through Thursday, examining the outpost.

Romney is gonna shove this up Obama's arse in the next debate I would be willing to bet.

Pretty sad when reporters beat the FBI to the scene by three weeks.

It is evident that Obama just wanted this to go away...and it is not.

I meant this one...reported YESTERDAY.

quote:

— More than three weeks after attacks in this city killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans, sensitive documents remained only loosely secured in the wreckage of the U.S. mission on Wednesday, offering visitors easy access to delicate information about American operations in Libya.

Yep...I saw that yesterday.

I would be surprised that the media is not reporting on this blatant cover-up and dereliction of duty by the state department and Obama...but then again, I have been paying attention.

I would be amazingly pissed if I were a family member of one of the Americans killed. They should have dropped special forces in that day to secure the area, preserve evidence, and if necessary, engage the enemy.

I found it to be laughable that the state department said they were seeking those accountable with drones. I am no detective, but I know some really good ones in the fed and state side of things. They laughed at the notion as well.

This is like the Pat Tillman story, but arguably worse.

It is all fine though, Obama will likely have to deal with this action and inaction in a debate right around the corner.

I'd like to hear an Obama supporters reasoning as to why it is fine that the FBI just now found their way to the scene of the murder of an American diplomat.

Operation Odyssey Dawn was a mistake.

I imagine the foreign policy debate will be a bloodbath worse than last night.

Romney will probably do a decent job of pointing out the flaws in this one, but I have a hard time believing he would put out a better one than Obama's.

What do they plan on finding at this point? Why even bother? Ths is a very lame assed failed attempt at response to the events in an overwhelming case of CYA by the Executive branch.

What has Obama done right in foreign policy?

I don't really like any of it, but Romney comes off as even more aggressive and it makes me rather uneasy.

If Romney acknowledged it as a terrorist attack and put boots on the ground to secure the area...an action any president in the past would have done immediately, he would be vastly superior to Obama in blaming a movie and doing nothing other than that.

What has Romney suggested that is so bad you feel uneasy?

because you just admitted Obama's plan is complete shite.

He is friendly with Israel. Obama campaign translation: he will immediately nuke Iran, re-enter Iraq and colonialize East Africa.

It is a strawman, pure and simple. The economic strawmen were burned last night. I suspect the foreign policy strawmen will burn soon enough.

I don't look at "friendly with Israel" the same way you do. He just comes off as more sympathetic to Netanyahu. Netanyahu seems pretty antsy to get this party started. If that happens, there's no way we can stay out of it it seems .....and I would prefer to stay out of it.

From a post of mine last night:

"Good timing. At this very moment I'm listening to the Reagan-Carter debate tape. And Reagan seems to have assertively and effectively separated the word "aggressive" from the word "stronger" in terms of being COC. Reagan spoke against aggressiveness but in favor of dealing from a position of strength. And that's exactly what he did. I believe that's the position Romney should take at this time.

Note this line from Reagan at that debate:

"we had adequate warning that there was a threat to our embassy, and we could have done what other embassies did - either strengthen our security there, or remove our personnel before the kidnap and the takeover took place."

While Reagan was talking about Iran, seems like Romney could effectively speak the exact same words tonight, just replacing "kidnap" with "murders", regarding Libya !"

News for you my friend...if it goes down between Israel and Iran, no matter who starts it, we will be involved, no matter who the president is. That is just the way it is...moreover, if/when it happens, I prefer someone with actual leadership ability and critical thinking skills.

Sidenote: I was against going into Afghanistan, Iraq and am against going into Iran or Syria.

Any Obama supporters want to comment on this? Too busy celebrating the ficticious job numbers?
