| Last minute advice - Heading to Disney World today (Updates pp.10 & 11 & 12) (Posted on 10/4/12 at 10:34 am)
The family truckster is pulling out at 3pm CDT. Me, the wife, and our 3 kids - ages 5, 4, & 4. Will be there until Monday. We have hotel covered and the mrs. has been accumulating Disney points on a Disney Visa card for a couple of years. I think we are up to like $2k in Disney dollars. We do not have park tickets yet, but we plan to use the Disney points for that. Any advice on how to maximize the use of our Disney Points and any advice on how to best navigate the park with 3 younguns would be most appreciated. TIA.

Get a park hopper. You get it when you check in and you can go to all the parks as many times as you want without having to buy a ticket every time. Also, are you the guy who started a thread a couple weeks ago about surprising your kids?

I hope you are staying on the monorail with 3 kids that young. Otherwise, don't go.

biggest thing, bring your own water into the parks. saves a bunch of money. and ask the drink stands to refill your water bottles, they will do it for free.

eating is not bad but the food is not very good. Just get a park map when you go in and go section by section. Get the fast passes first, then ride the other rides until you wait for the fast pass time. Finish up everything you want to do in that section and go to the next section. Magic Kingdom took us two days. All other parks we knocked out in 1. Did not go to Epcot with children since it is more of an adult park.

I was not, but I paid attention to that thread. My wife wanted to tell them the day of, but I wanted them to have some excitement time. And, I wanted them to be able to tell their friends, etc., We told them Sunday night and then every night we would talk about with them, watch YouTube videos of the ride. I think it was the right way. Not so far off that they bugged us about it a lot. But, then enough time to build some excitement.

this is true. we froze water and gatorade. put it in a backpack with a liner in it. it was still cold and mostly thawed out by the time we were thirsty.

Kind of late to be looking for advice but if you do 2 things make it be these 2. It will make your trip with three young ones like that: 1. Be at the gates when the park opens. You will have minimal waits for whatever you want to do. Have a ball for a few hours. Then 2. Go back to your hotel and take a nap. Everyone. Later in the afternoon/evening head back out for more fun. This presumes you are staying on Disney property. If you aren't you might be in for some struggles. Don't overdo it. Have a great trip.

Went in February. Had my daughter who turned 3 on the trip and my son who was 19 months at the time. If you are staying at an on site hotel, my advise is to drive to the park. Parking is free since you are a resort guest and I hate waiting on buses and even he monorail. When the kids are ready to go take a nap, we find it easier to drive. Are y'all doing the Halloween party? We were planning for next June, but may go in sept/oct to try the holloween party.

Since you have the Disney Visa card, make sure to do the free picture at EPCOT. Its always 2 random characters, but you get like a free professional 5x7 or something like that.

hugo: I went last year at this time and hit the Halloween party. It was pretty nice, probably would have been better with smaller kids to participate in the dance parties. The parade, the villians show, and the Hallowishes fireworks show were extremely well done.

With kids that age...The day you plan on Going to MK Go to Fantasyland first (if you're getting there when park opens) thats the least crowded time. Oh and I you want a really good breakfast...Ohana @ the Poly is worth doing A great dinner show Is the Hoop de doo.. Its an all you can eat BBQ Ribs and Fried Chicken etc... In MK there is a sit down called the Plaza Resturant...Food is excellent and Is truely best bang for your buck foodwise In Epcot..Drinking around the wold is a must.. I also like to end my day there @ La Hacinda de San Angel getting a seat near window in order to watch Illuminations
