I just wondered if the current POTUS had a single supporter here.

Raises hand..

I'm a moderate by most accounts. Liberal on social issues and lean closer to the conservatives on fiscal policy.

The bottom line is neither candidate will live up to what they are telling you.

Job creation will not happen under either plan. Its baseless political bantering from both parties aimed at the Toby Keith listening Natty Light drinkers. The notion that manufacturing jobs will ever return to the United States is a pipe dream. Our high mimimum wage and regulation ensures that the rest of the world will offer a competitive advantage to businesses. In order for the US to become competitive we would have to either devalue the dollar or place high tariffs on imported goods. Neither of these scenarios benefits the American populace as they create inflationary conditions.

We will likely never see 5-8% GDP growth as was the case in the 20th century. Its a new era of globalization and comparing to the past is simply moronic at this point. There is a new "normal". The Party that accepts this and moves forward will seize control over the next generation.

Romney's plan wont work because he doesnt really have a plan. Calling China a cheater doesnt actually mean anything. Cutting taxes on the rich hasnt ever worked before, in fact during America's most prosperous times the marginal tax rate on the rich was double what it is now.

Obama's Keynesian economic model wont work because it will never be fully realized with a divided house and senate. We also have reason to be skeptical based on the problems in Europe which has a more progressive welfare state.

So, the question for me in the election is which candidate will do the least damage over the next four years. Unless Mitt convinces me otherwise, I'll stick with BOB. At least I know where he stands.

HELL NO

I would rather get kicked in the nuts. If he gets another term we can kiss the oil and gas industry good bye. Uncle Hussein is bad for business especially in south LA.

At least you can back up your position unlike most who support him.

I'm voting for romney. I think they both suck balls, but a bunch of people I know have lost a lot of money under obama. I don't see how that will change if he's re-elected.

when has this ever been the case?

i am of the belief that we need to rid ourselves of the 'professional politicians.' i'm not the smartest man on the planet by any means, but i honest to God feel like i would be a better president than the past, current and probably future presidents. all i would bring to the table is some fricking common sense

I agree; however, that wont happen so long as businesses have a role in politics via PAC's, Lobbyists, etc.

The first step is to limit campaign spending and set up blinds trusts whereby the candidates cannot find out who donated money. In this way there are; theoretically at least, no favors to be repaid while in office.

That statement makes it obvious you were already an Obama supporter because thats the bull shite hes been selling thats false.
He has a plan, and it doesnt involve cutting taxes on the rich, it involves stopping the double taxes on income thats already been taxed.

If anyone knows where he truely stands, and wants to stand with him, it makes me worry. I can at least understand why the majority of his votes are there. They are bought , plain and simple. It ones like you I worry about.

Alas the Constitution doesnt support this and I worry that we're seeing the transition from Party funded think tanks/foundations to Party funded candidate development centers.

It's happening already, Paul Ryan is a classic example.

re: Any OB'ers Voting for Obama?

the sad true irony as most of the rest of the world moves toward democracy we are moving away from it.....

since when has the federal government hired teachers....

teachers ain't the answer.. accountability at home and at school are... when schools don't give homework because the know kids won't do it...

most of us can count on one hand the number of government programs that are well run...

do we want healthcare to become like public schools???

I did love the caller that called WWL saying the moderator should be fired because he kept cutting out our president...

I am sorry... but. how can someone that never ran a business enterprise.... created jobs......

if you gonna tax small businesses more...... you wanna talk about hurting people... just watch..

the government can't save everyone.. only the ones that vote for them.

Nope, nobody's right or wrong. I'm just an ordinary guy who chooses to hear both sides of the argument and make a decision. In my library you'll find books from Conservatives like Dick Morris and Stossel plus Liberals like Krugman and Robert Reich. Having weighed it out, I think theres more to an economic plan than continuing W's tax cut and eliminating the capital gains tax which affects less than 5% of the American population.
