Standard Horizon, least a 6 ft antennae.
Most important connection is from the unit to the ant coax,

I was just researching these for a kayak. I am going to get the Standard Horizon Submersible Handheld 280S. Around $100. I am also getting a Lowrance Mark 4 fishfinder/GPS

Need more information. What kind of fishing and what kind of boat. What kind of GPS do you have?
