Dude, I remember one time my mom took me to a show at the Centroplex downtown, and the main event was the Ultimate Warrier vs. Andre the Giant for the Intercontinental Belt. I was SO fricking pumped...she even bought me an Ultimate Warrior t-shirt. Anyway, the match consisted of this: Andre is standing in the ring. Ultimate Warrior gets announced. He SPRINTS out, runs around the ring, gets in the ring, goes back and forth on the ropes several times, clotheslines Andre two or three times, then pins him and sprints out the ring and then backstage. I was so upset. I was like "That's it??" And my mom was FURIOUS. Over the years, I've looked for that match, and I think I found it a while back: LINK fricking bull shite.
this reminds me EXACTLY of when my dad took me to uno lakefront arena to see Roddy Piper vs Rick Rude in a steel cage. Apparently Rick Rude had "car trouble" in Florida so Heenan took his place in the steel cage. It was obviously a damn joke and bull shite marketing to get people to show up

I remember going to Mid-South house shows growing up in the 80's, and they always delivered.

A lot of Warrior's matches were short. Isn't the match where he won the title from Honky Tonk Man like that too?

Ultimate Warrior could not wrestle, that is all he could do. I read a book on JYD, he was the same way. It took people like Ted Dibiase to make JYD look good in the ring. The book is called King of New Orleans, if you like Mid South Wrestling it is a must read.

I remember in college me and my buddy I worked with went to ECW shows at the Great Hall in BR, and One Man Gang was there one time. And we freaked the frick out...I remembered that dude from when I was a little kid, and there he was, still swinging his chain around. He was old and could barely walk, but he was still doing it. It was awesome.

He wrestled some in Bossier City for some low rate wrestling. He was pretty nice. I think he lives near Baton Rouge.

My understanding now as well and that Warrior wasn't the most skilled wrestler. Actually he and Sting were bodybuilders that were approached about being wrestlers. I even have an appreciation for the heels I hated in my youth, especially Bobby Heenan. I watched his entire introduction in the WWE Hall of Fame. It is broken up into 3 parts on youtube. But if you are a wrestling fan from this period of time, you must watch it. Bobby Heenan kills it, and even had my eyes tearing up in the end. A true legend. Bobby Heenan Part I Bobby Heenan Part II Bobby Heenan Part III

There used to be a website dedicated to Bobby Heenan quotes. It was pretty good.

I love the "Ultimate Warrior was a psycho" videos all over youtube these days. When we were kids, it was just awesomeness. But now, as adults, it's awesomeness in a completely different WTF kind of way. LINK

In his speech, Heenan looks straight at Pete Rose and says he has a confession "I bet on wrestling." Pete Rose couldn't contain himself.

"Tito Santana has a sister who is a pretty big country star in Mexico, Areba McIntyre." That was a good one.

Just glad others see how great it is. It is one of the best inductions I have ever seen-regardless of sport. The Brain truly was comic gold.

Also want to shout out to Mr. Perfect. I used to love his little promos of him doing all the sports shite without messing up. Also, also shout out to the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, who was a completely awesome heel. Who can forget when he called that little kid up on stage and offered him $500 if he could dribble the basketball 15 times in a row, and when the kid got to 14, DiBiase kicked the ball off the stage. Man, wrestling used to be good shite.
