watched this again a few weeks ago. Just taken by itself, it's probably the second best Halloween movie after the first one. (Actually, my personal favorite is Halloween II for complicated reasons). That ending for IV just leaves me speechless every time... with the stone silence as the credits roll. Too bad it was watered down a bit in V.
I love II and IV as well, I guess I'm by myself in absolutely hating III. Obviously I is one of the best horror movies of all time, but II wasn't far behind.
I go back and forth on which one was worse, V or VI. Othenin-Grand absolutely destroyed V. VI is weird, Paul Freeman produced IV, VI, H20, and Resurrection so VI was by far the worst of his work.
to Rick Rosenthal though, he was the director for II and Resurrection. He go no favors from the writers in Resurrecton but I liked the movie, really turned a steamy pile of poo that was that storyline into a decent Halloween.
