So the Apple guy convinced you that you should wait on the old iphone instead of waiting on the new one? Not only that.....he also convinced you that the "most innovative" company in the world's latest innovation isn't worth 100 bucks more than a year old phone? DAMN.....Apple salesman confirms IP5 sucks I guess Yea yea yea....thats a bit thick....but you see where I'm going there.

no, the dumb arse sprint salesman talked him into buying something inferior that will be outdated a year earlier. Pro Tip: Wireless Carrier salesmen suck and are not to be trusted. I overheard an AT&T salesman try and talk an older woman out of getting an iPhone because "You can't use a stylus with the iPhone" Personally, I was lied to when I preordered my iPhone 5. I told the salesman that he had to absolutely guarantee that I would receive my iPhone on the first day, the 21st. I had to have it this day because I was having it shipped to a hotel I was staying at out of state. He said "100%, it will be there on the 21st" Well, what do you know, didn't ship until the 23rd, after I had flown back home. I even tried to cancel it before it shipped because I knew it wasn't going to be delivered on the 21st. Once again, a salesman said he cancelled it for me, again lies. I ended up having to call the hotel I stayed at and telling them to refuse the delivery.

no guy at sprint store, probably a-little bit of sale tactics at work but I don't care. I currently live in mandiville and the only upgrade I would get for the phone is a bigger screen (comparing iphone 4s to iphone 5) the quicker processing is so slight you can't really tell the difference. a month wait and the 100 dollar difference also played a large role in my decesion. I also had a friend who currently has an iphone 5 and he said if he knew what this new iphone would be like he wouldn't have waited 6 months to upgrade and just gotten the iphone 4s.

I currently have a blackberry and it is a POS and I want a new phone sooner then later. I don't need the latest and the most advanced phone, there is no reason for where I am in my life right now and while yes the phone is outdated there is nothing about the iphone 5 that tells me that it is worth 100 more dollars and at-least a month wait, and what it sounds like from people it may be longer then that.

You are fricking smoking crack. Google employs over 7000 people to make their maps the best. Apple has like 700, they need to up their man power and work like a beast to even get close.

I don't know how many people apple employs for maps, but they seriously should throw at least $2 billion at the problem, get streetview, and just brute force corrections. ETA: I really don't think it would be too hard for them to run a program that would list the diff's between their maps and google maps. The hard part would be manually checking and fixing everything, but a team of 1000 people should be able to fix it in about 6 months.

will the apps be so much difference that the iphone 4s stuff won't work well and it will only work for the iphone 5. you are correct on this point but will it really mean that much for the standard iphone user, do you really need super fast processing for a phone to do waht the average user needs.

I have owned every damn apple iphone since the 3 (including the 5) and a few ipod touches. Owned every version of iPad and currently have 2 iPad 3rd generations. I develop apps for iOS and have been using iOS 6 since beta 1.

Alright but aren't most Iphone users smart enough to not fall for the carrier driven crap? In order for this to work the person must have at least a bit of doubt going in.....I mean hell do you not remember this. LINK

Apple maps are in their infancy. They will get better, but Google maps have just taken mapping to the next level. 3d mapping is pretty in Apple maps, but things like Googles traffic and street view have real value. I love using navigation on my Galaxy Nexus when I don't know where I am going and the street view pops up and shows me exactly what to look for and how to get around traffic. Apple will hopefully get there one day, but they are like a pee wee football team compared to a super bowl contending NFL team right now. When Apple publicly apologizes for something, you know it's completely shite.

I'm pretty sure Apple's navigation routes around traffic as well. I'm not saying that it's better than google's implementation, just that it is there.

This. As I stated before in my explanation, there's a difference in how programs are written. They're written to take advantage of what the processor can handle. Up until now, not many people knew they'd be writing software for a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor. As I said when they announced it, I'm really impressed by the hardware in the iPhone 5. Doing some analysis and theoretical comparisons really just hammered that in. I mean 3D transistors? What the fucccck?!
