i just wanna see it end.
I hope they don't throw out some strange curveball that contradicts the previous seasons.
that is the only thing that would piss me off. i don't care how/who/what/where the mother is as long as they keep true to all the little things they said in the past seasons.

Why? Ted is the least interesting/likeable character. I'm far more emotionally invested in Robin and Barney. Though I do think Marshall and Lilly already have their happy ending. I like they are funny characters without any real tension in their relationship. We are watching their happy ending unfold.

They haven't said its the last season but their is no new deal yet for season 9.
CBS wants it back but will they throw enough money at NPH and Segal to make it happen?

I'm kinda the same way. As I said in the OP I've been watching for the comedy, not the story line. I guess I'm kinda intrigued to see whether or not the mother is a new character or an ex of Ted's from the past, but other than that, I really don't care. I just hope this season is as funny as it was from seasons 1-5 or so

I'm pretty much like everyone else. The show has run its course, but I need to see how it ends.
This thought occured to me while watching a rerun. They always replace weed with sandwich subs for the benefit of his children. While that is funny, I can't stop thinking about how he does that while still telling stories of all his sexual adventures, including a three way. I think if Bob Sagat/Ted was my dad, I'd kindly ask him to stop.

I was just thinking about that earlier. There is one episode where he starts explaining Edward 40hands but he cuts himself off because he was talking to his kids. So he can tell them all about Barney's sex adventures but not the rules to a drinking game?
