Why do some OT posters randomly decide when to get offended over something?

Really insensitive things are posted on the OT constantly. It's just the way it is. No big deal. It's the internet.

Then sometimes theres a poster or two who decide to get serious and act all appalled.

I think it depends on the topic at hand and how close to home it hits for some.

Making fun of a celeb that OD'd or something is fair game IMO but making fun of someone asking for prayers for family or friends is out of line for example.

exactly. Just because it's the OT doesn't mean there isn't a line you can cross.

So a celebrity killing themselves is ok, but a local doing it isn't?

Don't look at me pal. I'm not sensitive to any of it.

Because the OT is full of genetically superior beings, and we tend to get annoyed be normal/geeds uncivilized behavior.

Wasn't an accusation. Spawns from people getting offended when the guy decided to practice his high dive of a building on BR a few years back. Think he had a couple of posts on the site, some knew him.

Got some upset because they didn't want to believe he killed himself.

The only line that exists is in your own head. Everyone's limit is different. To ban someone for "going too far" with a joke is complete and utter bull shite. If you think someone went too far, then ignore them. If the majority agree with you and ignore them, they'll go away.

FYI, I don't know the joke you all are referring to and don't care. This stands for everyone. Choppa made some insensitive comments in a thread from the guy that has the son waiting on a heart transplant. I just ignored it. I sure as hell didn't RA him like some pussies on here probably would have and did.

It's a disease and Prominentwon can't help himself. He wishes you would be more understanding and stop talking about his "ashy-ness", as he calls it.
