Really shocked to see San Diego cut Hester. Thought he had a nice little spot there on that roster at his role.

Hester. So he had 4 years in NFL. Doesnt that mean he gets the NFL pention for life?

None of these guys should surprise anyone. Hester doesn't surprise me because of how little value is placed on the FB position, he is a good all-purpose FB though and solid special teams contributor. Also, they got LeRon McClain, obviously one of if not the top FBs in the NFL this off-season, writing was on the wall for Hester, they weren't keeping 2 FBs. Lee doesn't surprise me because bottom line is they didn't want 3 active QBs. The rest of the guys were pretty much guaranteed camp bodies.

He was an undrafted free agent, yes, he's a camp body. People overexagerrated him here a bit. He wasn't "underutilized" as much as he was just a bigger mediocre WR playing TE for us because we had no one else. He's best known for a gimmicky 4th down end-around play against Bama, a run if he finished a little harder would have resulted in a TD.
Look at our starting TE last year and this year. A converted WR who couldn't hack it there and a converted DE who couldn't hack it there. We are just not that talented at TE (other than blocking) currently. Although, the young bucks and soon to be incoming guys can definitely help that out.

Hester is a freak. Twenty years from now no one is going to believe he played major college ball much less has an NFL pension. He'll have to show them on the Internet. But I'll never forget his touchdown right up Florida's gut. I still have that as my desktop photo.
