Duh. At one of my companies we have over 7000 followers and only maybe 100 are real. It cost us about $1000 to buy them but it adds instant credibility to first time shoppers.

Twitter needs to put a stop to this shite if they actually care about credibility.
Which they probably don't if their recent API changes are any reflection of their business model.
