| 2013 LSU Baseball Commitment List (Posted on 8/14/12 at 7:21 pm)
This is a list of LSU baseball commitments for the class of 2013 to the best of my knowledge. Feedback and corrections are welcome. The original thread was started several months ago but is now anchored. LINK for original comments/discussion. Update 11/15/12: We've apparently added a couple more pitchers in Allen and Whitty. Update 3/10/13: Added the additional jucos, and Jesse Stallings is now showing as a commitment but I haven't seen anything else. Has anyone heard of him? Update 3/24/13: Dylan Williams, another big RHP, has been added. It looks like he was originally committed to Georgia Tech. Tyler Allen LHP Deer Park, TX (Deer Park) Parker Bugg RHP San Diego, CA (Rancho Bernardo) Alden Cartwright RHP Baton Rouge, LA (Runnels) Dakota Dean MIF Crestview, FL (Crestview) Jarret DeHart OF Medford, NJ (Shawnee) Jake Fraley OF Middleton, DE (Red Lion Christian Academy) Nick Longhi 1B Venice, FL (Venice) Andrew Mitchell LHP New Orleans, LA (Jesuit) Christian Pelaez LHP Miami, FL (Florida Christian) Jared Poche LHP Lutcher, LA (Lutcher) Kramer Robertson MIF McGregor, TX (Midway) Jesse Stallings RHP Colfax, LA (Grant) Cade Stone OF West Monroe, LA (West Monroe) Troy Whitty RHP Easton, MA (Dexter School) Dylan Williams RHP Cartersville, GA (Cass) Justin Williams 3B Houma, LA (Terrebonne) Charlie Yorks OF Lake Charles, LA (Barbe) Danny Zardon 3B Pembroke Pines, FL (American Heritage) Juco: Kade Scivicque C Maurepas, LA (Southwest Miss. Longhi sounds good from his PG profile, possible two-way player.

Too early too put out percentages but there are 4-5 players that will receive high draft interest next June. PS: This also means it's too early to panic, a lot can happen between now and June...see Alex Bregman.

You can also add Kade Scivique to the list. He's currently at Southwest CC in Mississippi. Hell play his sophomore season at southwest this year and will be a junior at lsu for the 13-14 season. Article on his past season

Yes, he sure is... He didn't get a ton of looks coming out of high school given the size of his high school but he was being courted pretty heavily after his freshman season.... He's a catcher that can receive it well and has some pop at the plate.. Also is a pitcher that can touch 90-91 with a good curve... He played for Ronnie Rance the last couple of summers and has more than held his own against very good competition.

Heard today he is no longer an LSU commit. I know he had a rough junior season so I would have to assume the offer was pulled but don't know that for sure. Good player and good kid that is originally from Sulphur, if this news is true hope he can get things turned around and end up a Tiger!

Read an article that Williams won a couple of home run derbies this month. One at wrigley field and one at petco park In San Diego. Could sure use his pop. A man sure could dream. Justin Williams

Short quote from the above article:
quote:
Although he received major attention from pro scouts at the national games, Williams, who is ranked in the Top 5 of most national high school baseball recruiting lists for 2013, said he still plans to honor his verbal commitment to LSU, even though there is a good chance he could hear his name called in the early rounds of the Major League Baseball draft next year. He said he will discuss his future plans with his family when that time comes, but as for now, he's planning to join the Tigers. "I want to get an education," Williams said. "I'm not going to play baseball forever. Every baseball player needs something to fall back on. They have pro players who have millions of dollars, and they are set for life. I'm not there yet, so I have to start planning ahead."

Bump for the early signing period. This is the current list on PG and only includes high school players. Jucos are usually added in the Spring, but I believe there was an article about a big pitcher a while back. Does anyone have that name, and has there been any news about players on the list that may have signed elsewhere?
