The Dallas Morning News is reporting that there was a mass shooting near the Texas A&M campus today.
The shooter is in custody.
@dallasnews: There are reports of a mass shooting in College Station. Update to come.
Also,
Code Maroon website reports the suspect taken into custody. Suspect was firing from his house with automatic weapons Near Highland and Fidelity Streets in College Station. Scanner traffic indicates that at least two officers are down. No further details at this time.

ETA.2: Not sure if "mass" is quite the word to use, but suspect apparently is/was shooting from his house with automatic weapons and reports are that 2 officers are down. Not sure if he shot bystanders as well.
ETA.3: BREAKING: CSPD confirms multiple casualties involved. No confirmed identities
ETA.4: Shooting is not on campus, but appears to be 2-3 blocks off of it.
ETA.5: Not sure how much I will be able to keep up with the story while at work. If the story gets much bigger, I'd appreciate if the admins could add any relevant links.
ETA.6: A spokesperson for the College Station Police Department says there are no confirmed fatalities at this point. At least one officer has been shot.
ETA.7: 2:10pm Police have confirmed that a law enforcement officer has died after injuries sustained during a shooting in an incident near Fidelity St. in College Station near the Texas A&M Campus.
CSPD says that more than one law enforcement officer had been shot in the incident, and that there were multiple citizens injured in the shooting.
Representatives for the College Station Medical Center say five patients have been admitted to the emergency room. Three had sustained gunshot wounds, with two complaining of dizziness and chest pain.
A representative for St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan confirms that there was at least one female patient taken in from the scene of the shooting, but her condition is undetermined at this time.
We will continue to update this story as it develops on air and online.
ETA.8: One constable was killed. One civilian was killed. One female civilian is currently in critical condition and currently in surgery, per KBTX live stream.
ETA.9: 3 dead, including suspect. 4 still in hospital, 2 with gunshot wounds, including an officer in stable condition and a female civilian in surgery.

I live in CS and we heard lots of sirens and that the shooter was in custody. There have not been any reports of anyone killed.

Either way, can we have one day a year to remember everyone killed in a mass shooting?
this way we can mark it on the calendar, and all pray at once.
There are too many to keep track of these days.
