| 60 day notification by defense contractors (Posted on 8/1/12 at 7:50 pm)
Federal law says the employees are to get a notice their jobs will be cut off. Now the Labor Dept. says that rule will not be inforced. Is the Obama admin becoming dictorial by circumventing a law that's on the books? BTW, Obama (as a senator) heavily endorsed this law at the time. Even stated the law needed some teeth to it.

This whole thing reflects the height of stupidity that is politics -Politicians create crisis by deferring budget cuts -Cuts become realized and private industry reacts -Government bashes private industry for reacting -Cuts more than likely are never realized -Politicians take credit for saving or creating jobs

He doesn't want a bunch of folks getting their notice this close to election time.Politics pure and simple.

If you're potentially up for getting a layoff notice to be laid off in 60 days, are you really not going to have at least an inkling of this before you get it, such that you could be tricked by delaying the notice for a week to vote for a guy who you wouldn't otherwise vote for if you got that notice before the election?

Seeing as how the Lockheed Martin CEO said he was sending out notices to ALL 120,000 employees I think they know it's coming

It's cure that you think Obama cares about following the law.

Obama is circumventing the law so thousands of people aren't laid off 4 days before the election

Ask the employees at McDuffie Coal Terminal in Mobile about the the rumors leading up to the election in '08 about layoffs and then ask them what happened after BHO was elected. That dirty coal field lost half its workers in Aug of '09 when the truth hit home.He got a lot of votes from people who didn't listen and basically voted themselves out of their jobs.

I think you missed the "truth in sarcasm" statement I was making.

Lots of those losing their jobs are in Ohio, you think he'll tell them 4days before they vote....Look, if Obama is re-elected everyone better hope they take a long look into their job security...Not many will be exempt.
