Ben Simmons is an Australian considered by some the top recruit in 2015. He has been of interest to LSU with the potential hire of Aussie David Patrick as an assistant.
I found this on Simmons. The article is from 2011, but the below quote was added recently as an update, but it does not list the date it was added.

I don't know. It seems very odd. There are a lot of dots to connect, and it depends on the timing of that update and if it is even accurate.
Was it before Patrick was involved with LSU?
Is Patrick assisting in getting Simmons to Madison Prep?
I mentioned in a previous post that LSU would likely help Madison get players if they would send Martin to LSU. Could this be the first carrot?
Then again, it could be completely false.

I have at least connected Ben Simmons' father, Dave Simmons, to David Patrick.
They played professionally together in 2001 in Australia for the now defunct Canberra Cannons.

Also, don't forget that David Patrick came to Baton Rouge from Australia for high school.

After Pangos, didn't Simmons dad say they had no plans to attend HS in the US this year? I think he'll come over at some point, but he is only going to be a soph this year.

To me, the story is not really if he comes or not. The story is "who was he talking to for Madison Prep to even be in the discussion."
Because, for Madison Prep to be in the discussion, that means LSU is involved. No other school would steer a player to Louisiana.

Also found this. Thon Maker has a cousin named Chiir Maker in Australia. Apparently he is pretty good as well. 6-7 forward.

It's a done deal. I spoke with his host family from high school about an hour ago (business related) and I asked him about David. He said that it was a done deal and that they threw him a party at their house this past weekend congratulating him. He is very excited to be back in BR.
