my attempt at using, brightness/contrast/hue/sat as well as the blur and feather features to smooth out Oral Roberts.
I will just tag onto what you are doing there for some more tips on blending.
You can make the neck join look better by bringing opacity into play. Here's what to do:
1) Select the Oral Roberts layer
2) Select the eraser tool
3) Change the opacity setting on the eraser to around 20%
4) Start erasing Oral's neck. More at the bottom join, less up the neck. Just do a little at a time until the join looks more natural.
Keep in mind you will be revealing parts of the layer behind by doing this. Sometimes there may be something in the layer behind that doesn't show well in your blending. No big deal, you can always modify the image behind as well. Darken a chin, remove eyebrows, etc.
This is totally a feel and look thing. If you do too much, back up and try again.
Let me know if you have any question.
