LSU Wins / Losses

Under the command of LSU....our win/loss trend has a slope 0f -0.7.

That means on average in any season Les Miles will lose 0.7 more games than the year before. Discuss.

BTW: This is a FACT.

Not surprising but every year is a new year.

re: LSU Wins / Losses

But last year LSU only had 4 losses compared to 5? I see what you are saying though.

I'm an optimist even when I shouldn't be. Season hasn't started and until then I'll keep thinking that Miles, who has his back against the wall, will come out guns blazin' and the team will be re-energized because Miles knows this is it for him.

But in all reality this is a stretch so what I'm doing is looking at this season as a win/win situation.

1. We start winning and we are back on track.
2. We don't and we get a new coach.

Slope? Really? You are using that as an argument? Take a few more classes and you might come up with a better mathmatical argument.

it's called an average, as I said in the OP.

Run the regression then walmart greeter. You can do it in excel with pretty colors. Your slope will come out to be -0.7. Same conclusion, based off his Win/Loss record. That is a fact, it isn't open to interpretation, it is what it is based off the results he posted.

Les Miles has lost more games than the year before ONE TIME in his career at LSU. You're trying to manufacture an overall downward trend when there isn't one.

Yes, the linear regression over his 5 years a s head coach. What would you like to use? I do the calculus and give you the rate of change as averaged over his years here, but as I'm sure a man of such brilliance as yourself would quickly realize that the rate of change after the MNC season will dominate the numbers and provide an even worse outlook.

Try figuring out what the solutions look like before shouting off at the mouth.

Now there is where you are wrong...success is not only based on wins and loses contrary to what some boneheads on this site will tell you.

Show me where I'm wrong then oh sage...I imagine you can't and will just continue with the name calling...the herald of a reasoned well thought out argument.

And yet the OP is trying to define a regression of success in terms of numbers. FWIW.. I don't give a damn if our team is the sloppiest 12-0 team I've ever seen or if they're the most efficient, smooth, disciplined 7-5 team I've ever seen.

Objective measures often trump the subjective ones.
