The overall literacy rate around 1787 was about 50%. "Reaching the population" is pretty irrelevant of half of the people could not read the words.

By the way in the Savannah river valley of Georgia it don't take many pigs to make a truck load....the bastards get pretty big in that area!,,
So about 15 minutes of research on state wildlife agencies sights will confirm that remote sprung trapping is the most effective means of eradicating pigs. Shooting them at night over bait has actually improved their breeding capabilities because the bastards are eating more easily and spending more time fricking.....because very few people are going to sit over bait from the time it is placed until it is gone. Pigs, being pretty damn smart critters, ain't coming around bait that stinks of people and aren't going to come around it when people are around. Of course anyone who has ever shot them at night over bait knows that it is FAR from automatic and takes a lot of time spent in the field......

I spray insects of all types because it is the most effective way of controlling the bastards.....I don't water the insecticide down so they will suffer even more because it makes me happy to make them suffer like you originally said about pigs.
Hogs are invasive and destroying habitat and native species numbers. They are slo fun to shoot.....can be very challenging as they are smarter than deer and are at least as good at staying hidden in plain sight.....it is nearly impossible to control them with any method....I read just recently that in parts of Texas you have to kill 10-12 for every one that isn't killed to simply keep them at their current numbers....they don't do anything but eat, shite and frick.....they are pests just like ants and houseflies.....but saying that you prefer they die painfully and slowly is just sick.....

we have 4 traps around our property. 99% of the pigs i kill are one shot through the ear at close range. but when i want to kill them at night with some friends, one sack of corn aint gonna help the pigs all that much bud.
