How was London?

Just got back last night. We left on the Saturday before the Carolina game so we were in Europe awhile. I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to the game as much over the course of the week as I was learning of all the kneel down idiocracy from last weekend.

London was everything they said would be. Too many historic sight to get to in 5 days. It was unreal just how many historical sights you can get too. If you hate people don't go. Crowds & lines everywhere. Highs in the 60s lows in the 50s & dreary all week. We hit up the official Saints bar Barrowboy & Banker the Friday before the game & it was great. Who Dats everywhere at the bar & around town. Tons.

The game was a weird experience. It was about 25 percent Saints fans, 25 percent Dolphins fans & 50 percent Europeans from all over in their favorite teams jerseys. It was strange going to a game between 2 teams & seeing so many other teams jerseys. Wembley is a great venue & I would love to see a soccer game there. Heavy security getting in the NFL Tailgate area & the game. The Saints fans were loud around us but it such a cavernous place it didn't seem loud in the entire stadium. The Euro fans LOVED the Dolphins cheerleaders.

On a side note we spend 3 days in Amsterdam before going to London. Hands down the greatest city I have ever been in. I would move there tomorrow.

Also in London there is security & cameras EVERYWHERE. The amount of muslims you see walking around is stunning. Good job Angel Merkel. We talked to a Brit local who we met up with through a friend who happened to be an undercover cop. He was said it is amazing the amount of muslim terrorist attempts that get thwarted. He said we are only in the beginning of the major terrorist attacks there.

Stadium atmosphere was great. Most of the fans near us were there as casual observers rather than fans of either team. Everyone was friendly and interested in the fans who travelled. I can only vouch for the official tailgate area but it sucked. Endless lines and completely sterile. Whatever, we won.

There's a lot more to Amsterdam than weed. It's a beautiful, charming city full of culture. Really really wonderful place.

I took in a Premier League game (Manchester City vs Chelsea) the day before the Saints game, and let me tell you, the fandom is night and day. Half the fun of the soccer game was continuing to mirror the old lady's (and I'm talking late 50s) razzes, who sat in front of me, towards the linesmen. "You bloody wanka, can't see for shite!!" Hilarious.

At the Saints game, I actually leaned over to the Brit next to me and apologized about how bad the game was what with all the flags seemingly ever other play. "Its even boring me" were the exact words. If the NFL wants to get the UK loving them, games like that and the Raven's asswhooping were not the games to showcase.

Wembley is a pretty ballin stadium. Not much in the way of tailgating. They had some beer booths, and a stage but no public restrooms. I had to duck into couple of businesses to piss while out there. And yes, the Brits LOVED the Dolphin cheerleaders. They don't have any for any of their sports.

My itinerary was Munich for 4 days for Oktoberfest, Amsterdam for 3, and London for 4.

Munich was great but I was annihilated the whole time. London's traffic is fricking horrible, but there is so much to do that 4 days can't fit in. Amsterdam was my favorite too. And yes, it has to do with the RLD, but it was very pedestrian friendly getting around the city, had great art, history, and the "coffee" shops were abundant. It was like another planet.

All in all, 9.5/10 for the trip. Would do again.

Great trip

I was pretty impressed with the overall atmosphere at the game. Seems like the british are big NFL fans even with the shitty games that are always played there. Saw plenty of Saints fans all over London the entire weekend.

Not to shoot down your comment on why London is so diverse, but migration of Muslims and Hindos to London in mass started long before Merkel took office. The British Empire was heavy in Muslim countries from Africa, to the Middle East, to Central and Muslim East Asia for a 100 years. London, New York, and Paris reflect the evolution of "global cities," and unfortunately, with it comes extreme diversity. No doubt we all have trouble with radical Islam and terrorism, but also have trouble with domestic, "WTF Terrorism," such as what happened in Vegas on Sunday.
