The fact that this is what was pitched and this is what Alleva fell for shows just how unfit he is to be AD.

Seriously. If somebody can name a successful program I'm all ears.

Obviously it's not working for us. But it has worked for Clemson

There were SEVERAL posters on this board saying this was a winning formula. Comparing it to Clemson.

Venables & Morris...good example.

They may have been the only team in the country to make it work...and that's because Swinney has blossomed into an elite HC.

I do not believe they currently operate under that philosophy, though they have in the past

Of all the issues right now, I think this is actually way down there. Organizationally, football is one of the few places where the “CEO” is still desired to be a subject matter expert on a portion of the “company”. It’s counter-intuitive to how successful organizations run and I actually believe this will be the trend of hires as the game evolves and additional coaches are added.

Clemson is a good example of one doing it well. We just hired the wrong CEO (pun intended).

In the end you need a competent head coach who has a philosophy, a plan, a certain vision and is able to piece all of it together.

While having a good coordinator is important, it will never truly mask the flaws of the leader.

Dabo has become an outstanding head coach, agreed. His role is likely downplayed, I think he runs a phenomenal program and deserves a ton of credit.

Dabo strikes me as more Les than O. The way his players seem to absolutely love him and the way Clemson plays is extremely similar to Les.

Frank Broyles at ARK admitted to being a CEO while letting coordinators coach. He got the stadium named after himself.

He's also dead now, and our CEO will NEVER win a national championship. Hell he can't even beat Troy.

LSU is screwed.
