The promotion from within rarely works because the culture of the team doesn't change. LSU has too many Miles era coaches left who are still using Miles era coaching tactics. The offense isn't better. It appears like the same basic philosophies and restrictions are being used. LSU needs a fresh start with fresh coaches. The offense is the biggest disappointment. LSU fans have forgotten what a good offense looks like. It's disgraceful LSU can't join the 21st century on offense.

Look at basketball. All the crap is gone and Will Wade has a clean slate to start from. LSU fired Miles so something wasn't working. Why would you bring in a guy who wants to keep much of the same in place? The program needs a purge.

Never would have thought LSU would repeat the Archer Experiment again, but apparently that’s exactly what is happening. I just hope they end the experiment before it gets really bad.

Huh? I don't disagree with you, but who are the Miles' era coaches?

Aranda was hired by Miles, but he hardly qualifies.
Ensminger? He actually ran an effective offense, sorta.
Orgeron?
Moffitt?

Edit: I actually agree we need to clean house. But I really wonder what you mean by Miles era coaches that are still here. Most of the staff is new, unless you count GA's who became position coaches.

We need a "football fresh start initiative". Maybe we can settle our stupid mistake debt by hiring O, and purging the staff. Start over, rather than patching in people hoping to keep the ship from sinking.
