What prevents Democratic lawmakers from blocking every one of Trump's proposals?

Will they not see this as an opportunity for payback for what Republicans did to Obama? Despite the Republicans enjoying a majority in both houses, I can see enough RINOs defecting to block any idea that Trump puts forward, including the tax reform bill. Just see what happened to the Healthcare bill in the Senate.

I was informed by this board in previous years that an obstructionist Congress is a good Congress.

But I think they will fix DACCA and pass an infrastructure deal.

I'm glad you admit to the partisanship.

Too much personal politics within DC so of course the gridlock will continue. If they truly wanted what was best for the country, they would at least have constructive discussion but nope.

Once these lemmings get primaried, things will start to change.

If the proposals are bad for people, it is their duty to vote no. Congress is still passing bills and working on issues necessary to governance, but there is a disagreement on these high publicity Republican proposals. For example, a 1.5 trillion dollar tax cut without regard to the functioning cost of government. Especially after a hundreds of billions of dollars increase in the military budget. I would hope that my representatives ask the question, How are we going to pay for this?

Not when your own party is obstructing itself.

McCain might go for health reasons. But the other votes: Collins, Murkowskey and Rand ain't going anywhere.

Might able to flip a few Dem seats though, at least in the senate. I expect a beating in the house.

Where have you been...even the EO's he puts out, the Dems judge shop and have 1 judge in a city drop a lawsuit that freezes the EO meant for the entire country. So yeah, this has been going on since Trump's been in office.

One common thread they all have against Trump is they lose their gravy train if Trump is successful and implements term limits.

Trump's the great deal maker. Republican house and republican senate and can't get anything but EO's through. I've never seen a lame duck in his first year of his first term. I think it's his personality.

But it's his fault right. This is the definition of drain the swamp. Corruption on both sides and nothing ever gets done but waste our money.

I sometimes think a Dem would be better than the low IQ GOPe in some cases. RINO's need to GTFO.

End the national debt.

Each year less than previous year.

No upping debt ceiling.
