Why do NFL players assume they only have two choices?

Can't they stand for the anthem and flag but yet still support black rights and take a stand for police brutality? Stand for the flag and wear a freaking BLM shirt for all I care or actually do something to invoke change for the cause you stand for and have media cover you. Speak at police stations, advocate for better pay for police offers, better training, more awareness, community out reach, invest into black communities via successfully run programs and people who are looking to make a real change. Not just your expected out reach by the owners of the football teams or united way. Do something above and beyond what is expected.
How many NFL players have kneeled this year but didn't last year? Why the change now, were black lives not important last year or police brutality. Easy to see who the followers are.

Because then their homies would ridicule them and call them Uncle Tom's for "not keeping it real."
You can't cooperate with the PO-lease in any way if you want to keep your street cred with the "brothers" in the league.

Why the change now
Excuse to bash Trump, who was only mimicking his base and how they felt about the protest.
So nice to have a President so willing to fall on a sword for us.

Hegelian dialectic...
The problem is controlled, the Steelers tried to go around it, but it only looks like they chose to protest, because the anthem/flag is too political.
So the cowboys look like punks, because they stood for the anthem...
