This is spectacularly poorly-timed announcement which is a bad look for the NHL from a PR standpoint. Otherwise, despite my deep hatred of the Penguins, I don't much care, and it's the height of lunacy to expect a Canadian to take a political stand about an American president.
The NHL probably shouldn't have jumped into this mess on the exact weekend the NFL was making headlines, but the only thing that ticks me off about the Pens going to the White House is the fact they won the Cup.
