Memorable Bar Foods you Have Encountered.

Years back I did quite a bit of business with an industrial manufacturing operation in Barbourville, KY. For five or six years, I was in their plant for 2-3 days every third week.
The president of the company and his managers were big (after work) beer drinkers and since they were, I was too. There were several bars in that part of Kentucky - maybe all the way up to Lexington that fried sweet (banana?) peppers as bar food.
They were yellow, light green and sometimes red strips maybe 2 inches wide at the wide end, tapering down to the bloom end - maybe 6 or 7 inches long, dipped in a light batter and fried to a golden brown. Great with a cold beer and a burger.
Has anyone come across these?
What bar/dive foods do you remember that are no longer around?

Fried peppers at Waldos went well with 25 cent pitchers.
They were jalapenos though

The ones I enjoyed were sweet/mild, and a lot longer than jalapeños

The debris fries from Bruno's in Nola to this day stand out as far as bar fare I'd stuff my drunken face with. If I remember correctly, it was cajun waffle fries covered in shredded cheese, a generous helping of roast beef debris, topped with horseradish sauce and fresh green onion.

The smoked oyster bruschetta at Pelican Brewpub is pretty righteous.

MD - by any chance did you have the opportunity to enjoy the fried plate at the Cherokee Inn in Jackson back in the day?

Scotch egg with a "soft" yolk at Wild Rover Brewery in Oldsmar, FL. Sadly I think it was a mistake because the last two times there the yolks were hard.

We went to the Cherokee often when it was on North State Street, just North of the Northside intersection. Not nearly so often when they moved across I-55 and got all Yuppie Family Style. I always liked that they put a sheet of plywood on top of the pool table to use it for a drink table during lunch and dinner.
The wife loved their fried Mushrooms and we usually got a burger to go with them. As I recall, they had a nice House Salad with comeback dressing.
It was a classic dive. Outside there were old pickup trucks parked along side BMWs, Mercedes, 55 Chevys and ancient VWs. Saw a Lotus parked beside a Pantera there one night. I was big into cars back then....
Good old memories.
The fried plate we liked was "Frank's Famous Fried Plate" at George Street Grocery, when we would go slumming with the Legislature and Lawyer crowd.

I guy I knew years back had a place called the Blue Moon Cantina. It was attached to Monjunis on Youree here in Shreveport. He had a beers of the world theme, but also served small snack like dishes too.
My favorite was his tamales covered in chili. All homemade there on the spot.
I belive he passed away some years ago though.
