The LSU Coaching staff made some smart moves in recruiting this past weekend! Come to LSU and you can start playing immediately. The way this 2017 class played this past weekend only makes future recruits hungry to be a Tiger. Geaux Tigers!!

Lots of teams played freshmen, and it's nothing new at LSU.

Nah, we played 16 freshmen in 2014 or 2015. I forget. But...if our offense looks way better on top of that, then we'll be in good shape.

Well I don't think he is being a dck because if I'm not mistaken Georgia played 17 true freshmen as well.

according to SEC country (not sure how reliable they are) the LSU record was 15 freshman and that was during Sabans first year at LSU. Will try to find the link to add to post.

Warning: Facebook link

Mentions it around the 7:44 mark

Louisiana has an unusual number of top high school receivers in the state this year, many of whom are believed to be closely watching LSU to see if their passing age will open up under Orgeron/Canada.

I think the jury is still out on that. While LSU threw the ball much more efficiently than in the past, this was a run heavy offense against BYU.

Some say that is because BYU never stacked the box and Canada took what they gave him. We shall see if they get more balanced as the season goes on. I am not sure this game sold any receivers who are looking to catch a lot of balls. I do think we will see more balance in the coming games (and I am not complaining about how Canada called the game, he did great, just observing that we did not throw a lot).

One would think LSU could attract a couple of top running backs this year, so far not so good, but there is time. With Guice and Williams leaving and very little depth behind them, there is a great opportunity for a running back not only to play early at LSU, but also play a lot.

They said during the ballgame that the only time LSU played more than 17 true freshman was in 2000 Saban's first year.

I'm not trying to be. There were a lot of freshmen on the field across the country.

We had a lot of attrition and suspensions this week. It wasn't done for recruiting purposes.
