So after today's scrimmage, and obviously drawing from prior knowledge, where would you personally rank the quarterbacks? Who would you start and who would back up? I ask because all I here now is Brennan and Etling without mention much of the others.

Here's my personal depth chart.

1. Danny Etling
2. Myles Brennan
3. Justin McMillan
4. Lindsey Scott
5. Lowell Narcisse (would RS so he can recover and get back into the swing of things)

How does anyone know based on a few scrimmages and message board hype?

Hard to say. Clearly they are getting Etling ready for the season. Brennan is getting reps because O promised him he would. The others were all there in the spring. I do think it is save to say they want to get Narcisse totally healthy before he does too much. Hey if Brennan is the best, he will play, or perhaps even 2nd best.

Pretty sure any reps guys are getting at this point are merit based. This seems like a staff that will make guys earn their reps, and it sounds like Brennan has earned his.

I'm not saying who's gonna be ranked where, I'm saying based off of what you've seen in previous years and what you're hearing, who would rank where? Nothing is definitive though of course

If you have two players that are equally as good, always go for the younger guy. He will be your long term investment.

I think DE is the better QB.

Personally, I am not buying any of the info dribble out of camp. It looks like disinformation meant to keep the lid on the season strategy.

Etling is the most experienced but to me has the weakest arm. He is not a DT guy. Brennan is not a DT guy either and we have three DT QB's in the wing. For Canada's offense to work the best you have to have a QB that can at least be a run threat. Etling can run a little but I dont see Brennan tucking it and running a read option.

Furthermore just about every QB LSU is recruiting is a DT guy. I dont see Canada running a Pro Style offense and screwing his recruiting up. I know Canada has said he can tailor an offense to what he has but then again I am sure he has a preference and a scheme.

JMHO, but if Etling gets hurt or pulled otherwise I expect to see one of the DT QB's go in.
