Around 9pm last night I noticed some termites coming in under my door. I live in the middle of Baton Rouge but right next to a small forest and I get termite swarms every year.

Did anyone else notice termites swarming last night?

I saw a couple of ant piles swarming a couple of weeks ago.

I've never noticed that before.

I had anticipated swarms a couple weeks ago. You sure they are termites?

Termites were swarming at my house in Madisonville last night. It's the first time I've noticed them this year.

I normally keep a lamp on in my living room at night but when they swarm I turn every light in my house off.

Last night I actually duct taped the bottom of my doors and I didnt see a ton of termites this morning. I normally get it worse on day 2 and 3 though so I have to prep for tonight.

I was told that the swarming termites are not wood eating termites and that only the ones that come from the ground are wood eaters. How true is this?

Swarming termites come from the ground. It's basically an exodus to start new colonies. They will eat wood but if you spray for termites, they will die within hours of getting to your house.

I can't keep them out of my house but I know they will die and not do damage to it. Just a pain and my fiance hates it.

Yes. Took my dog out about 10 pm and saw them swarming around the outdoor lights. Live off of Highland Road between Siegen and Pecue.
