Too many older people!!!!!! Check it out next year when you go to a game. They don't get into standing up and cheering at the top of their lungs like it used to be. The older couples who sit behind me always tell people who stand up in front of them to cheer to sit down. They use the old "Down In Front" statement.

It faded away with the old Box. Same way TD Ameritrade has ruined the magic of the CWS. Glad I got to attend games in both Rosenblatt and The OG Box. Great places that just felt right.

It's the truth. People call the Box the best home field advantage in all of baseball. I think that may have been true at the old box but not at the new one.

Hell we give standing ovations to the opposing teams at times.

The new box isn't an intimidating venue. It's a cozy piece of college baseball heaven that respescts and even applauds visitors. Hell Stoneybrook came down and took over. You would have thought this was their home stadium by the end of that game.

This is no home field advantage. I think vistors enjoy playing in it.

Honestly, I missed the old Box immediately. I completely understand the need for progress and modernization, but it feels like the best years of LSU baseball are behind us.
nah...

these are the best years, it's just that the sport is a lot more competitive now. no one's ever gonna win 5 in 10 years again or hit 185 HRs ...

as for the OP we blew our Box Magic on Friday

Yup, new box is awful. Has nothing on the noise created from the old Box.

Whoever designed the new stadium to be and feel so far away from the field.

i guess it would magically change if we moved the foul lines a bit, put home plate closer to the backstop, and then finally the Box would be what you want it to be?

i mean it can't all be like this, can it?

How about same setup as old box? Just prettier I guess? That would make it better.

New Box - Old Box had the magic. PM is also not Skip Bertman.

I think sticking with Smoke was the way to go, but so many here and elsewhere, railed against him for not being Skip as well. Smoke was a better fit in the long run - he just didn't win right away and after that miracle stretch, our fans were delusional with no patience.

Miles lost the Tiger Stadium magic and now PM has lost the Box magic. Where do we go from here?

Baseball fans by definition are big pussies. At Braves games here in Atlanta, Braves fans let Cubs and Red Sox fans take over the stadium, there are many people that live here from Northern cities and they allow it.

I didn't realize the longest home winning streak of 22 games in LSU history constituted a loss of magic.

we have a natty and another cws run in the new stadium. We also have a super regional loss to a 4 seed and a regional loss to houston.

That was not the issue with Smoke at all.

Thanks for the pointless thought, dumbass
Jrvdmac... What a moron you are.
Go suck some more flouride. Your brain seems to still be firing on a couple of synapses and putting the last two out will do the rest of us "walking uprights" a big favor...

Re the comment on BOX... Great point. But I think the bats have done more to the magic than anything else. Largest fan base plus offensive fireworks meant we were always in a game. Now, take UCLA last year for example, one hit, one bunt and a stolen base plus a sac fly and we lose 1 - 0 because the hardest hit baseball only goes to shallow left... Bats suck.
