re: Season 5 and now Season 6 of Dexter SPOILERS

How anyone can rank season 8 as anything but a far last place boggles the mind. It was teed up so well at the end of 7 too. Had great potential.

Quick season 5 recap:
NOt much to complain about until the end. Season 5 was ok. The ending is what killed the whole season. Lumen should have 100% died. Jordan should have killed Lumen, then Dexter shows up to get retribution and kills him. Then he frames it to look like murder suicide when Deb shows up and he hides. Her surviving and the whole scene behind that curtain?!

There was one dirt road out of that place. How did the hide the flipped rent a car that was crawling with Dexter's dna and fingerprints, and how did they get the body out with out deb ever seeing them? Did she just leave and go to a coffee shop around the corner before she called it in. The season really wasnt bad up until the last two episodes which were horrible.

All of the killers just disappeared including Chase and Lumen is alive and somewhere else. The police department has this open file now. In the other seasons he atleast was able to frame someone else so that when he killed the bad guy the police department wasnt suspicious because he threw them off. This is now the second season in a row where, in the eyes of the public and the police, the bad guys have just disapeared. And just a year before this there was the bay harbor butcher which only killed serial killers and no one believed it was Dokes anyway, but everyone seems to have forgotten about that part. Even though now trinity and Jordan and his 3 accomplices have all disappeared without a trace. Killing Lumen and letting the police find a dead Jordan wouldve tied things up much nicer.

And quinn. you suck dude. Quinn knew with certainty that Dex is a serial killer and where he dumps his bodies and is just like "hey thanks for killing that cop and lying about the blood on my shoe" im a huge pussy in love with your sister. blabla

Now for season 6:

Season 6 is where the tailspin actually starts. It opens with him killing in the absolutely stupidest way possible. Forget that he calls the emt's from his phone which is obviously traceable and easily the best way to get caught. He betrays his entire process. He kills them in an ambulance with their electric paddles. What happened to the kill room and the process and the code and the hunting. They just abandoned all that and completely betrayed the viewers and the show itself with that shite of an intro.

The character and the ideas in the season are actually really good, but the writing and execution was terrible. Mos Def was a good character and his story line ended pretty well. Reformed criminal who Dexter once let get away comes back actually reformed and helps Dex realize some things. I liked it. But the writers mucked it up. The killing of nick by drowning him was not satisfying. I mean it was were he was baptized and everything. They shouldve played that up and had Dex remind him of all that. Instead he just gets rage killed.

Then his brother returns. GOd help us. He is a lunatic schitzo and it makes no sense. He is like hanging out and eating and talking to people and shite. It was dumb. Then the fat pot gorwer steals his knives and forensics kit, and again he just kills. So this is now the 4th kill in the season without a kill room. There was the whole tooth fairy thing, but that plot line was dumb, and poorly put together, especially the way it ended. So he goes and finds JOnah and figures out he killed his mom, but then he just confesses that he is the one who killed his dad and he is a serial killer and then leaves and is like later man. Have fun living with the deep regret of beating your mom to death after finding your sister dead in a bathtub. THe kid is more "born in blood" than any character on the show so far and Dexter despite wanting a partner has less sympathy for him than anyone else. That was dumb. SO he fake runs over the ghost of his dead brother then picks his overbearing father back up on the side of the road and he never makes another appearance depsite being heavily involved in every other season.

Olmos actually plays a solid character. They couldve done this whole season with his chacter and all the awesome doomsday killings without forcing the viewers to watch Dexter in some retarded existential quandary about his spiritual life and his son's future. Dexter goes to confession? That was so dumb.

The doomsday killings are pretty badass though. Everything else sucks.

I have 2 more episodes to go. I already read the plot summaries on wiki so i know what happens. No need to hide spoilers. I'll review the last 2 episodes and the season in fuller detail after i watch them.

And Quinn. Jeez man. Why the writers turned this dude into the biggest crying pussy on the planet is beyond me.

Then on to season 7. Why am i still watching this show?

I can't even bring myself to fully review the last 3 episodes. What a dumpster fire shite show.

So many plot holes for no reason. Prof. Gellar isnt real, so who the frick did Dexter see walk into that building before he got trapped in the elevator? And why did the girl they let go say she heard two people, if in the scene we see Travis in he never speaks for Gellar?

And.........Deb is in love with Dex, Quinn is a pussy some more, ans you would think Dexter would love the idea of the video game.

That was the shittiest end run to a television season I've seen. Maybe ever.

Up to now Heros is the most disappointed ive ever been in a television series. Depending on how Seasons 7 and 8 turn out this might top it.
